I'm about to buy an '05 rx8 this week, but many I see have the factory spoiler, which I want to replace. Is the factory spoiler replacable? Are the bolts in a universal spot, assuming you get a spoiler of the same style?

 

Yes, the spoiler can be replaced. The holes are supposed to be universal w/Mazda parts, however the reality is that humans drill the holes so there is room for error. Sometimes the holes will line up, sometimes they won't. The MS spoiler will end up covering up the old holes if new holes need to be drilled so there is no issue there. I believe the mint blue wing will too, but don't quote me on that one. Which spoiler were you looking on getting?

 

If you can't find exactly what you want without a spoiler (which you'll be paying ~400 bucks for if you get it) see if the dealer will swap trunk lids with another that doesn't have a spoiler

 

the racingbeat spoiler will also fit/cover the holes left by the stock spoiler
