In what state??? Maybe you're thinking of 65% tint (which is referring to light transmission, not darkness of tint), which would be hardly noticeable. The 20% tint this guy did is ridiculous...

tint on a front windshield is DEFINITELY illegal. but that doesn't stop people from doing it.

heck, going over 55 or 65 mph is illegal, and people do that on a daily basis.

I think the eyelids look GREAT! I've always been partial to red...... :D Be careful with the tinted windshield. Thought: Can you always see great out of your rear windshield with a dark tint?

Actuallyanyone who bought an Rx8 definitely set something aside b/c I dont give ashit what any Rx8 owner tells you - looks had A LOT to do w/their purchase! If this car didnt look so good and were smiliar to the style of the speedy econoboxes like EVOs WRXs and SRT4s - I bet at least 80% of thepeople on this forum wouldnt own an Rx8 today.

And ifwe jump off the topic of cars for a second - haha - I set aside a helluva lotmore than what youve just listed in favor of looks - just glance at the kinds of airheads and pains in the *** Ive been in a relationship w/just to have a pretty face.

Do you also recline the seat all the way back while you drive?
Imnot a fan of sitting allthe way back in the driver seatwhen you drive either - but then again safety wise - the further away youare from the windshield the less of a chance your head will slam into it inan accident. Butyoud probably get a nice dosage of whiplash.

Well, I've never even heard of anyone tinting their windshield. Probably for good reason too. I've sat in cars with 20% tints on the windows and the rear, and it really reduces visibility, especially in bad conditions (ie on a rainy or foggy night).
Having the windhshield tinted, I would assume, would be an annoying strain on the eyes, especially during long drives at night. But if you can handle it, then enjoy it by all means, cuz who am I to judge?

I do agree that looks were probably very important to the majority of 8 owners, but there's a difference between choosing looks over some performance or over safety. In its stock, beautiful form, the RX-8 is still a perfectly safe car. It's apples and oranges. I guess it's just a matter of personal priorities. And I can accept that different people have different priorities -- a tinted windshield just doesn't seem worth any possible aesthetic advantage to me. As for the safety factor of a reclined driver's head not slamming into the dash: I could care less about the driver; I'm worried about the guy taking an evening jog. Same with a tinted windshield. I don't care if this guy hits someone else's parked RX-8 at night, my issue is with the increased probability of him hitting your or my car stopped on the side of the road with someone in it. I guess I'm just too practical. And for women: I was lucky enough to find a down-to-earth knockout with a PhD. :p But I'm sure you had a damn good time (at least for a while) too. I guess my point is you should do what makes you happy even if you have to make some personal sacrifices, just don't go making those decisions and sacrifices for innocent people around you. If it's illegal and you're getting ticketed, it's probably for a reason.

I needed a good laugh tonight before I went to bed Redlinin 8. You managed to do just that.

I'm with Socr8tes on this one. One of the most idiotic things I have ever seen done. Why don't you put some spinners on it too?

You may not be in trouble with the cops.

But touch wood you crash into anything.... they will have the front tint as a very very good excuse to make you at fault.

It is illegal anywhere in the world. So I think it is unwise unless you want to keep your car in the showroom.

that shiat is a rollin' ticket. there is no state or country anywhere where it's legal to tint the windshield like that. maybe in a 70% uv shield (which is pretty much clear as it is) but that's it. plus you're not allowed to tint the 2 front doors in ny...so those are illegal too. hope you don't get in a wreck because the insurance companies will consider that the vehicle is illegal to have on the roads and no one will be covered.
