There was no spec sheet, but it feels the same as my note PC.
So, may be around 2kg.

Can you install it yourself, or does it require a body shop?

Did it come painted?

Thanks!

Yuhki-san,
thanks for the pics ! I definitely want that Euro Style spoiler too, it gives the car a lot of class.

The rear spoiler came with painted.

I think the PN will be different depending on the colour like some other optional parts.(Sorry, I can not write the red rear spoiler pn here to avoid troubles in Japan)

I will bring this spoiler to my dealership this weekend, they already promised me that they could install this spoiler with the same installation fee as the normal dealer option rear spoiler.(3500yen = about US$30)

On you site the price is listed at 6800 Y, or ~60USD.

It also states it will be much cheaper in the USA.

Under $60????

I have just changed the statement to "may be much cheaper".

I bought this part through other person who sells the Mazda export parts in Japan.
According to him, he could not buy the part in Japan so he imported this part.
So, this part was shipped from Japan and then shipped back to Japan. And, of course, some comissions have to be added in Japan and Europe(U.S.?)
So, if you live in outside of Japan, I think this part should be much cheaper.

Whats the difference between the Euro rear spoiler and... what-ever other spoilers are available?

Can someone explain and maybe even provide comparison pics?

The 'other' spoiler is huge and ugly, the Euro spoiler is small and neat

While the former may be more useful.. I don't imagine many of us will ever make use of the 'downforce' it provides.

which "other"???? you mean the Genuine super uglo-wing?? that won't make downforce... the Genuine spoiler is pretty nice, with a third brake light incorperated...

if you mean the MazdaSpeed one, well, i wouldn't qualify it as either "huge" or "ugly" (but i'm sensitive to your tastes, worry not) but the downforce would be there for... track use??

Ah nice, the Euro spoiler adds a bit of flair/definition without too much of the "rice" effect. By the time I'm finally ready to buy an RX-8 this will probably/hopefully be a normal accessory.

i would suspect that it will be available from the aftermarket very soon, considering how much griping many of us on here have done about not being able to get it from the get go.
