You talking about strobes more or less in your turn signals?

less in my turn signals, so I don't have to deal with load resistors.

To tell which is correct, you'd need to remove the flasher unit from the car, compare it's pins to one that might match up. I've never heard of a direct replacement but perhaps someone has found one. Using resistors is a bit of a pain, but nothing hard, and works fine.

I had strobes in the corners of my old whip. I didn't even bother trying to install them. My computer nerd buddy did all the work.

still no answer to this question???
Which one of these electronic flashers work in the 8. I just want to add LED's in my signals/flashers.

Those won't work. The rx8 has a flasher control module. I was able to reprogram the module to work with LED turn signals.

Is that difficult to do? as in a lot of equipment and skill involved, or basic tools would do

It wasn't hard. I figured it out within an hour. All you need to do is change the variables that control the 556 timer. (i.e., caps and/or resistors)

if you aren't as knowledgeable with this as RR (lol!), just wire a resistor at each turn signal. I bought load resistors, but they were a few bucks a pop. turn signals are still working well so i'm happy.

Yea, that works too. It defeats the energy saving advantage of LEDs but it's sure a lot easier.

Load resistors get hot, keep that in mind when mounting them.

TeeFar, check out this thread for some pics and description that should help you do this with resistors.

good lesson learned there...glad it didn't torch your car

Follow the directions/pics in the link above to do it right.

You can even build your own load equalizers using wirewound resistors available at Radio Shack (that's what I did and they work fine). However you only save a couple of bucks this way, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort - it doesn't cost too much more to just buy the load equalizers and be done with it.

As it was said, the resistors get quite hot, so make sure you safely mount them to a metal surface that will act as a heat sink.

this is true....

I think I have an extra module somewhere. I was in the process on making a kit for people. I'll have to look.

I'll snap a photo if I find it.

Hrm, im looking at a wiring diagram of flasher control module and inputs D (left turn signal) and G (right turn signal). Do I put a resistor at each of these inputs? You said caps, that is not ringing any bells with me, course it is late and im tired =p maybe capacitor. What is best to do? Sometime in the future im going to hook up LED's and was just curious how this is done instead of putting resistors at the light location.
