ok so about 4 months ago I decided I wanted to do a CF trunk and CF lip spoiler. (ducktail style) It was almost impossable to find one that was reasonably priced. I really wanted the re-am wing from rhdjapan.com but $800 for a lip spoiler? no thanks. then I found the Knightsports wing (simmilar design) also prices were hovering arouind the 700-800 dollar mark. no thanks. I had seen the EVO-r wing but it was too small for my taste and also still a tad pricey for what it is. So Finnaly I pulled the trigger on an ebay wing. I was sceptical at first but the pics on the ad looked promising.

anyway about a month ago I received my SEIBON CF trunk that I got for a great deal from http://assaultech.com/. fitment was PERFECT!

so yesterday my ebay wing arrives. it was packaged very well and was shipped super fast! the esimated arrival date was april 18th!

fitment was spot on and it looks great! quality Carbon weve, and quality clear coat.

^ that why I was sceptical about buying it. ended up making an account on 8club france and tracing down the member whose car they used in those pics. lol

 

get that clear coated, They uses a lower quality resin (hazy between the seibon and spoiler itself) that hazes worse over time in the sun. Between that and wax you should be good. I would hate to see you disappointed down the road if it does indeed happen

 

^ lukily I have close ties at a few detail shops so if that ever happens with either the trunk or wing it wont be a big deal. plus it stays parked in a garage every night and most days. lol

 

I think the owner of the car in the eBay ad is a member here too. Don't know if he comes on much. I've seen that spoiler a lot on eBay and always wanted to buy, but was nervous about fitment issues and all around quality. I'm glad to see this review! I'll be buying this the second I get the $$$$

Not trying to hate but it does look like it's open or the fitment on the left side is a bit off. It looks as if water can just slide into the trunk.

 

ive never noticed it being off. it is watersealed its already been in two rain storms and washed. idk now you have me thinking i need to fiddle with the fitment! lol

hahah dont worry im not going to jump on it quite yet lol but nah i was thinking about just going with the painted one or maybe its unpainted. idk but its only $99 and my car is BB so i figured i didnt need the carbon fiber cause it wouldnt look much different

 

for $99 I highly doubt it comes painted. That would be awesome if it does though. I would consider buying two

 

yeah it probably doesnt, so in the end after painting it it would probably be more worth it to just get the cf one because it doesnt need paint

 

Nice spoiler lip. Not my kind of a spoiler, but its an option. I'll stay with the oem.

FWIW, a friend of mine put this same spoiler on his VR RX8 a few months ago (I'm thinking about 3 months) and albeit only spring now, there have been no signs of fading on it yet and his car sits outside most of the time.. I'll see if I can get a pic.. he's a member here but don't think he posts much...
