Well, it finally happened after a year and a half of ownership. Some *** hat in a parking lot decided to park next to me even though I park far away from everyone where ever I go and put a nice ding in my passenger rear door. I noticed that in the center of the small ding there is a tiny spot of rust.

How do I take that rust out or treat it so that it doesn't spread? What should I do about it?

i would goto a body shop. Rust is like a bacteria and just keeps spreading unless you remove it completely.

My only real hope is that I'm not around if and when somebody ever does that to anybody's car......that would set me off!

That blows. People who put door dings in other people's cars should have their heads shaved and have lemon juice poured over them.

My car is less than 6 months old and I already have a ding.

 

Dings suck. Lousy inconsiderate jerks seem to find nice cars out in the boonies and park next to them just to make our lives miserable.

 

I have three dings at 53K now, but no rust. Waiting until Spring finally arrives to deal with them. If you have rust, that must of been one hell of a ding.
