De badge/cut "M"
eh,...probably screwed the car up, but had to do something.
The back trunk had too much alphabet soup going on with all the badges. So I took all of them off.
Then I cut the emblems (also took of front) to resemble a stylized "M" and reattached.
60/40 split about "would I do this again". Overall I am satisfied. Sorry no pictures but I am sure you have all seen the cut emblem before on other Mazda cars.
Its a black car so it looks ok. Messed up the paint a little getting the front emblem off. Plus there are some outlines of the previouis emblems still visible but since I am having part of the fender repainted to fix scratches that came with the car I can get this fixed as well.
WD40 worked better than Goo Gone with removing sticker residue. Took my time and gently scraped with my finger nails. Still left a few scratches but see paragraph above.
Anyone else do something similiar, and if so any pictures. Looks a little cleaner in the rear now.

I don't buy Kool-Aid
My Winning Blue RX-8 is De-Badged. I like the look but I must have the OEM badge's. You never know. I might just want them on one day. But for now I get a lot of people pull up next to me at a light and look at the Car like; WTF is that?!!!
lol I love it
I'll post pics for you today. You can see where they came off there is not one scratch.

I thought about taking all the badges off but then It would look the blank , so I just took off the M on the back. The back seem very crowed so be taking the one in the center , its help alot . I need a little chrome on the car so I'll leave the other on . Maybe you should had a pro do it and it would have come out better. From reading your post you don't seem to happy . To bad you don't have pictures .
Good Luck.............

^ Reaper, what did you do with the 2 holes when you took off the M? I've been reading all the threads on debadging and admit, a BB looks a bit too shiney with all 3 badges on the rear.

Its not that I am unhappy, its the perfectionist coming out in me. Besides the person doing the paint is a friend who runs a body shop so I am confident about the quality of work
Probably leave all emblems off after the painting. I can always stick them on later. I am having all the holes welded/ground/filled/painted so it should look great.
But yea, a professional would have done a better job, fortunately I am getting it painted (fender) anyways. Also having some eyelids cut from a thin sheet of aluminium. Traced on paper to copy the ones that Kei Office did. Welding shop across from where I work has a water table. Going to put a small bevel on the leading edge; this with some minor touch up and they should look good. Getting these painted also. If I like the look I will stick these on. If not I will have some Kei Office replica eyelids for sale

^^ yup!
There's times where I let mine sit for a few days or a week in the garage but even so, I've got 40,000 on my late '05 already. It's a driver's car, I wish more people would realize that
