There is gap between the hood and front bumper because

1. the hood spacers I put pushes the hood back a little

2. bumper is ziptied on

There is no gap when the hood wasn't vented..

Read it again and notice I used your picture as an example..

2nd Cheap kits will most likely fit with huge gaps like that one guys gold/tan colored rx8. Notice the uneven gap between the hood and the bumper. With authentic kits you'd most likely spend less time in the shop.

Its like grade school, using examples to teach. It's surprisingly effective at teaching people who refuse to learn on there own.

Get a vented hood. Hood spacing isn't really worth the effort or deformation.

^no, but VENTED hood is the way to go...to achieve real cooling.. there are hoods FRP like stock but with vents.... similar to the VEILSIDE hood where its not really visible...

OR if you have a good body shop... you can cut your own...

Throwing on spacers isn't hard, but trying to keep it from looking terrible is a lot of effort. But that's just me

Underpanel guard? The plastic underneath the car?

I could swear that panel was to help direct air out of the engine?? And keep rocks from being thrown up into the engine bay as well?

JINDESU- yes that one....

i know for people who track its critical... but for DDing... it really isnt... unless you live on a FARM or purposely drive over tumbleweebs and homeless people? I been without it since like 40k ago...(70k current) and all is good...

For instance RACE ROOTS just made a metal one because people who track would make an investment in it since they are lower to the floor (most likely) and track, and their underpanels thin out after a while...

edit: when i use to have my front appearance package... leaves and suck crap from the road will get sucked in through there and would be a bitch to get out.... and not kidding... one time i dont know but i found a bird in there.....TRUE STORY

As long as you don't remove any before the radiator, since those make a drastic impact in forcing air through the radiator vanes.

The rest of them are just keeping water out and helping your aerodynamics by reducing underbody drag, for better highway mileage, so removing them is viable for venting, though it does mean that at speed, you are shoveling more air under your car instead of over it, risky on the track.

Zumn, that bird probably didn't think it could turn left or right, all those reflections to each side... poor thing didn't know it wasn't in a flock.

another reason i dont have my underpanel is because i have MY UNDERGLOWS... and if i had it on... kinda defeats the purpose....

RIWWP: true what you say.... But like everyone knows....i cant reallly track with 20" wheels...
