I vote yay...........I wouldnt leave it CF look though but get it painted to match the car,CF hood, trunk and Ive seen a bumper, its the way to a lightweight rx-8,those combined with lightweight wheels, pulleys and cortc's titanium pieces,it just keeps adding up,great move for a light car.

the hood on my cougar (42lbs) and the cf hood (13lbs) is a nice loss of weight

anybody know the weight of the hood or trunk of the rx-8 and the difference going to the CF version??

I thought the stock trunk was made of aluminum, which is pretty light already. Im not sure a CF trunk would save much weight.

thats why I was asking, if its not aluminum then the weight savings will be substantial.......if it is aluminum then I dont think its worth the effort unless you are hardcore.........but if someone is willing to pay a couple hundred $$$ for titanium lugs they might want to lose the who knows?? + or - 3lbs difference going from aluminum to CF.... :o

It's awesome! But only because it gets me a half-star rating increase in Need For Speed Underground 2.

In real life....NAY in a BIG WAY.

I wouldnt consider that trunk, but i would consider the cf autobahn trunk painted. The autobahn is nice because it is not identical to stock. The back top is raised a bit.

I was thinkin about getting one, but I may end up painting it if I do. If there isnt a big enough weight diff, its not gonna be worth it
