Carbon fiber side doors?
Carbon fiber side doors?
Well I have been thinking about this for a while now.
I don't have the money to actually get carbon fiber side doors right now,
but I'm thinking about the things to do (wishlist i guess)
when I get the ok to mod my car from my dad (he's paying for it =P).
So i want to see everyones opinion on my photoshop'd before and after pictures
on an RX-8 that's just like mine (but this picture isn't of my car,
(I found it on yahoo cuz my phone can't take such a good pics xD)
what do you think?

I would first figure out what aesthetic direction you are going to go. Are you going to keep it a solid color, body kit, 2-tone, wide body, wheel color, etc.
The only way I would throw a set of CF doors on my car would be to somehow incorporate it into my final design. Something along the lines of putting a couple layers of candy over the CF so in certain light i shows color & others the weave shows. Or find a line on the body and carry a two-tone throughout it(painted lower & raw upper).
Its all about flow, IMO.

Personally, I wouldn't go for it either. If memory serves, CF side doors are really quite expensive, and I think that money could be better spent elsewhere. I also think large CF pieces outside of the hood usually detract from the look of the car and have a tendency to be tacky.
But, in the end, it's your car and if you like it, then by all means go for it. I'm just some crotchety old man anyways, so I don't know what's cool anymore

Well if i got them from fluidmotorsports they are like $1,280. (without tax or shipping counted for) My neighbor owns a body shop that could do it no problem.
I was thinking about it, with a CF hood as well.
The idea for the two tone look cuz of the CF side doors came from the new Audi R8, but I know the AUDI has nicer CF haha

you're better off spending your dad's money elsewhere. CF doors would be something to do if you have everything on your car modded already and can't think of anything else.
