Question Can I take this Off?

Hey okay this might be a stupid question but I wanted to ask, can I or rather should I take this thing off?

I looks like its just a protective piece of film. Every time i polish/wax the car I end up getting some of the wax stuck on these edges as can be seen in the picture above. Has anyone taken this off from their car? Will it pull off my paint or anything?

yeah.

From what i heard from a salesman (worst person to ask right?) it's supposed help against rock chips.

The way i look at it is - i'm almost 500% sure that it won't make any difference and i'm pretty damn sure it won't damage anything.

yea, you can but Atilla mentioned it's supposed to be there for rock chips.
I haven't really seen many people remove it but I'm sure it's possible.

Interesting. Its funny that they put just a few small pieces of this clearbra stuff on the side of the car. So then if I leave it what's the best way to get the gunk out of the edges without removing the clearbra?

Fingernail(your finger) wrapped in a soft cloth, along with time and patience. I'm sure there are fancier ways, but that what I do if I have to do so.
After that, be more careful in that area when waxing.
