Christine, I think your car looks absolutely perfect for a daily driver. I was going to go with an air suspension but now I might just pick up the maszdaspeed suspension. I love your setup.

Currently running with the HKS Hipermax RS. 19x8 +38 offset and 19x9 +38 offset Advan Kruezer Series V. Full mazdaspeed kit with black trim instead of gunmetal with carbon fiber front splitters for protection :P To be honest, it's lasted very long, i plan out where i drive and just careful, im quite anal with my car.

I don't know too much about suspension but couldn't you just drop the front a little more by preloading the springs?

nope, it doesn't work like that... the springs were preloaded, the car is sitting at the expected height. The spring height is a "constant" at least if/until it sags a bit. :)

Tein coilovers, this is as HIGH as they go...LOL, snow and car moving made me raise them up - you can get it about 3 inches lower than this picture.

And yes, lowered on the MS kit - with gaps even front to rear, you will have to be very careful or you'll scrape badly (says guy with 3 front bumper repair bills.)

so was the ms struts and springs your first setup, and then you went to Tein?

I had factory, then tein springs, then tein coilovers.

I was just showing you the adjustment range of the coilovers. Also - they ride well, not very stiff, but less total travel than the Tein Springs. Even in my DD configuration I have over an inch of drop left, I just don't want my car that low.

*** I may have confused your question, I thought you wanted to know about people lowered with the MS bodykit, not the MS springs. I've never had the MS springs. If I misread, I apologize.

no no, you answered right.. I was gonna go with Tein basic coilovers initially, but since I couldn't adjust damping, I figured I might as well spend the money and get some that I can adjust dampening on also, just in case. I was also worried about ride stiffness. I was asking because I was afraid of going any lower and was wondering how others handled it lowered with any suspension and having the ms kit.

I went from sprint springs (without body kit) to ms springs/struts (with body kit) because I was afraid of scraping on the drop provided by sprint.

But the front is not even with back on the ms suspension, so I ended up ordering Tanabe Sustec Pro FIVE coilovers.

Neither with the Tein or factory (I don't know why the gaps are always off), the coilovers have a lot less travel to them, so you can get away with it being a little lower.

With my DD drop - I could hit speed bumps as a somewhat normal speed, and even some driveways in HI, which can be really steep. I'd say it was 50% easier to drive on them than springs only, without scraping.

Nope, you'd have to drill or take out the black plastic piece on the front for the tow hook to be installed, and I've never bothered to worry about it.

Ok sounds good, I don't think I want to do that either.... I like the little extra decoration (not functional for me).. lol

I keep the decoration under the hood ;)

mine is only lowered alil bit and i always scrape something.. speed bumps are my nemesis

I am on tein s-tecs and have the ms kit, its funny how much I pay attention to the roads. I live in Tampa and you can be lost in some of the pot holes here.... That all being said I really do want to go lower :lol:

I'm thinking about getting the Tein S-Techs with Koni Yellows, plus the MS body kit. Do you all think I'd have enough clearance with this setup to have it as a daily driver? I'm in Chicago so the roads aren't the best, plus you have to think about winter. What are all of your opinions?

that is the exact set-up i have. will it be low? yes. will it scrape? well that depends on what your roads are like...i mean, i am very careful when i drive, but by no means and i scraping all over the place. it's basically just enough clearance to go over your average speed bump at 0 to 1 mph.

Hmm I see. You got 18" rims on yours? What rims are those? And how is that 275 setup? Any "trem...something"? lol I forgot the term.

But you can adjust the S-Tech ride height right?

trem...? ha ha, i don't know what you're talking about man. any rubbing you mean? yes...the wheels are 18's, with 275/35 tires. the tires do rub due to their width, but if you get a tire calculator online and calculate the overall height of 275/35/18, you could get the same or very similar height with a more narrow tire.

but yes, 18" rims, tein s, ms kit. i don't have a good front picture in my album, just back and side shots.

not, tein s are not heigh adjustable (no springs are to my knowledge). you'd have to get coilovers to get ride height adjustability as far as i know.......read: expensive. you might be thinking of the koni yellows stiffness adjustability, but not ride height.
