Today I was walking up to my 8, looking at the temp tags and thinking to myself ' A black license plate would look sexy against my silver 8'.

So I asked my friends how much a black license plate costs. Turns out, you have to buy someone's plate (cant just order one). Someone told me a small number can run 500-600$.

I'm not dumb enough to spend that much on a license plate, but I heard that you can get a black license plate with Gold numbers for about 100$ [I'm not sure if this is a Delaware only thing or not].

I figure black/gold is a lot nicer looking than a blue plate/yellow numbers (Delaware) plate.

Does anyone have any experience with buying a black license plate? Can I get one for 100-200$? Should I go for the black/gold or is it not worth it?

My birthday is coming up, and my boyfriend suggested buying me tint. I'm not a big fan of tint, but I figured a black license plate and/or clear corners would be a good idea.

are you allowed to custom make license plates so long as the number is registered? I don't think so.

one thing you can do is buy one of those plate covers that is tinted.

 

June 19th. I want to take a look at all the 8s at the sushi meet and get some more ideas for my first mods. I really like the clear corners.

Sway bars is a good idea. I'm assuming you have them, so which ones do you suggest + how much are they?

 

I would suggest you rethink the tint idea.. it really makes the lines of the 8 flow better.

sounded like you'll be seeing other 8's soon. Look around at them and when you see a darkness you like find out what that person used. Some tint shops will even put "temporary" tint on a window so you can get an idea of how dark it will be. Basically they just quickly put on a piece so you get an idea of how it would look.
