By any chance if we dont have the front air dam will it still work? i should try this
|
^ you can do what twiz did. but i think he drilled into the car.
|
Oh so the only way is to drill it?
|
im not sure. maybe someone else can tell you.
see if there are 2 screw on the bottom, if there is you could probably mount it. |
this will work just fine without the front air dam.
no drilling required. you just remove 2 screws from the stock black lip and replace them with 2 screws from the kit. easy as pie. |

twiz, you should put some foam tape behind the top of the license plate so it doesnt scratch the paint on your bumper.
Problem Solved:rock: |

I'm thinking I will see about designing my own bracket, using this one as inspiration. See if I can't get it mounted flush with the bottom edge, but secure in the wind. I figure the higher up you mount it, while still using the same under-lip mounting points, the more the wind can push on the plate.
I'll post if I figure out something good. |
i've never had any problems with it being secure in the wind.
its called torque. use it on the bolts. |
^ yup just get the bolts all tightened and there no problem with the wind
|
Got it and installed it today thanks for the find and post.
|
i was going to do this... but then what will i use to deter others from backing into me while parking....

wtf..

I lol'd

autozone off center install still looks like crap. Better than buck tooth though.
Is the bracket adjustable enough to install and flip under the car so that it is not showing at all? Then if a cop complains you can flip it out and say - "oh jeez, the nuts must have come loose?" |

I did this this weekend when it was amazingly awesome outside and I took care of my car. I didn't go as far down and to the bottom as some did, I drilled two little holes in the plastic dam and then threaded the bolts through it. Took like 5 minutes! Actually took longer to figure out where I was going to put it.
|
anyone have any ideas for me ive hit a road bump while installing this
my car has no undercarriage at all. its just all opened up under their, theirs 1 long screw and 1 of the metal things they screw into. but thats all i have. i keep getting tickets for no front plate when parked even when its in my windsheild... |
bump i really need help figuring this out... i need that plate on but i cnt see anything to bolt to underneath

If that fails, then I might have to :) |
I only have one plate, but if the state ever makes me get another one, I'm definitely doing it. The off-center thing's not so bad if you have to have a plate.

Well, I checked the Bell site, and it said Canadian Tire distributes their products.. Got a friend that works there that will try to bring it in for me..
If that fails, then I might have to :) if you end up needing to go that route just post on my page and id be willing to help you out. |
Hey kersh4w, this is a great idea. I absolutely need this. Did you pick it up from a store or order it?
|
autozone 8.99
|
^ Which one did u go to?
|
^ Nvm found it.
|
yea. when you install lemme know. i need to see where you do it and what part i need to buy to install it. im missing the entire undercarriage, all that protective plastic is just gone
|
^ I might be SOL too since my engine undercover got trashed awhile ago thanks to a damn cone. I'll most likely buy it tonight just have to find a place to mount it on my MS replica
|
There should be the holes where the undercariage was screwed on. Just use those holes.
|
hmmm okay ill look again, i cnt get my damn head under the car its so low so i cnt really see much.
did you just use the hardware they included with the kit or did you use hardware from the car itself that was already their? |
Yeah, I used the oem screws to hold it on the car but it comes with a set of nuts/bolts and a set of screws too so you shouldn't need to buy any additional things. The harware for setting angle/height is a allankey that is supplied. Great kit for under 10 bucks/
|
yea i have all te parts. i was just wondering because along with the entire undercarriage gone all the oem hardware is as well.
|
The screws supplied should work fine.
|
alrite cool thanks
|
what i should have done before i put the bracket on was coat it in some anti-rust paint. over time you will notice rust
