Baking Tailights LED in Jeopardy?
any recommendations on seperating the tailight lense from the assembly? I want to do some work inside....I know for the front you can bake it
what temp do you bake?
the back has LEDs built in...I'm thinking those will blow am I right?
how about a heat gun or solvent?
Help please thanks!

I'm going to check the heat tolerance of an led...first...if it works at (200F baking) then I'll bake the lense

this is an inference not direct info but LEDs are usually a plastic or resin that needs to be heated and melted into a mold during creation...so I'm going to guess it is ok but I'll reasearch a bit more to be safe

No it wasn't a test light doh! I had a WRX before and did the headlight baking many times with no issues. So I had condensation in my taillight took it off and saw there was water in there. Figured it'd be a good time to try to seperate the lights and paint them like i've always wanted to. Now I'm taillightless.....

Back form the dead...
I didn't want to start a new thread so I resuscitated this topic. Anywho I found this on ebay. I don't know if Truemagellen, or anyone else for that matter, had any success opening/painting the taillights? Has anyone tried this product?

So, no one has tried this film product? I think it is a cheap alternative to buying an extra set of tailights, should you f-them up. This film can be removed if it is unsightly. When I get some extra skrill I will buy a roll.
