AU-TO BAHN STrasse RX-8
Anyone have pics of this bodykit? odave? JT Imports? I just discovered it in Vol.96 of Hyper Rev, but I don't have a scanner.
It is pretty hot! I am not sure about the front, but the rear and rear 3/4 view has me in love. The kit goes italian in look for the 8, taking styling cues from the Ferrari 360 Modena. The 4 pipe (not tips!) exhaust system looks badass. The rear-end has been done to show off the pipe work for 4 exits and it looks exotic and sexy. I wish I had a scanner... |
Do you have a web address?
|
Unfortunately none was given in the articles, or the 1 page ad. I tried searching the web for a site, but came up dry.
|
YOU NEED A SCANNER REAL BAD

You're telling me!

Well if anyone who has a scanner and can get JDM magazines...

Will post the pics when I get a chance. I have been real busy with auto shows and getting new parts to try out. ;)

Here ya go Japan8.
They also have a front titanium strut bar that goes for 360 sum dollars and also quad muffler tail pipe system. |
Wow:eek:
That's a up there with the MS kit for good looks. Maybe even better? Got any with the back side? Know where I can get that? |
those rims are BADASS
i like the mirrors anymore pics I can't even see the front of that black 8 |
whoow
very nice simple looking kit anyone think the front bumper resembles a modena front end ? |
mirrrors = pimp
|
Finally!!! Someone has created a body kit that has a wing-type front. Kinda like the HKS design back in the magazine special or TRD Solara. I've always liked a front end that has the center cut off. Here's an example:
|
more pics please. possibly some in titanium?
|
Thank for the pic...
Yeah odave... more pics please. You haven't even shown them the view that made me fall in love with it... the rear 3/4 view with the quad pipes. Kel RX-8... yes it does intentionally resemble a 360 Modena. They designed it that way... I mentioned that in the first posting. Guys... can I pick a hot bodykit or what? I think I've found my alternative to the MS kit... just like this, in black, but no eyelids... I hate 'em. Now only if someone will make it in urethane instead of fiberglass... |
yo caught me
i scroll down just for the pixs sorry i didnt read your initial post. |
No problem man...

 A quick and dirty brightness adjustment so people can see the lines. I reeealy like this one! Very clean and sharp. I could imagine a design review meeting with the stylists at Mazda, where Design A is the current front, Design B is the MS kit, and Design C is this one. "We better go with A, because B is too much Viper and C is too much Ferrari." :D The vast majority of the other kits I see...well, all I can imagine is the original stylists seeing photos and trying to suppress a gag reflex, and throwing up in their mouths a little. We MUST see the rear view(s)....the MS rear is nothing really special IMO, looking not all that different from stock. I really think the first company to come up with a rear with the same "wow factor" as the MS front (or this front) will sell a lot of kits. But why oh why do they have to offer it in fiberglass? Every time a company comes out with a fiberglass kit for a $30,000 car (in order to save *maybe* $500 over urethane) God kills a kitten. :( Please, bodykit suppliers--think of the kittens. |
From pg 75 of Vol. 96 of Hyper REV (there is NOTHING for sale here!!!)
Front bumper 89,250 JPY Side Step 54,600 JPY Rear Bumper 81,900 JPY Eyelid 14,700 JPY Hood (FRP) 71,400 JPY Hood (CF) 92,400 JPY Aero Mirror 36,750 JPY (electric w/ directional) Muffler (SS) 134,400 JPY Muffler (Ti) 220,500 JPY Ti Strut brace 36,750 JPY Car Height kit 294,000 JPY 6 POT brake 378,000 JPY 3 Gauge Hood N/A JPY (Under development) Air cleaner kit N/A JPY (Under development) Entrance illumination 19,950 JPY THe mufflers are a must!! The rear valence is cut higher to show off the pipes (you have to see a pic to understand), and the exit opening in the rear valence is wider to accomodate the double exit on each side... thus Borla and RB will likely look kinda odd. The rear tunk lid is like Auto Exe... a molded "ducktail" design. Just imagine... this kit and a turbo on your 8... too hot! |
You and me both... what the hell with all the fiberglass?! Someone keeps saying that there has been bad urethane so the Japanese kit guys are a little weary of it. I don't know why they don't spend a little time and refine the shit down so there will be no problems.
The OEM parts are plastic... maybe they just need to change material... maybe it's the mold design... but no matter what... fiberglass sucks! |
beauitful

Why Japanese love fiberglass?
It is the easiest and cheapest to repair out of all materials, you can do it by yourself with no help needed. Once you tear abs or urethane you have to buy an entire new piece. Easy to mod, I know a lot of Japanese that want to customize the bumper to fit lights, extra vents, change the angles if they don't like something with the kit, etc etc. fiberglass is the easiest and cheapest to work with as i stated before. Japanese roads are usually smooth like butter so there is less need for urethane or abs. I talked to big abs/fiberglass specialist, gialla before about this and he stated the same as I brought up above. ABS, huge mold cost but if quantity is enough then they will do it. fiberglass, if built correctly (industrial strength like gialla, hartege, breyton, etc) will withstand daily driving bumps with minimal damage. Urethane, most manufactures including many expensive american ones don't make good enough urethane that will retain structure for the lifetime of the car. Environmental heat and other wear can cause urethane to stretch, crack, bend after a 8-10+ years and with no way to repair/patch. |
So who do I have to pay to get a look at the quad pipe rear of this car...?!?!?
