ANGRY about urethane front bumper

ok so i know alot of this is my fault but i just thought id let everyone know about my situation so the same thing doesnt happen to them... So i ordered the ms style urethane front bumper from rotary extreme about 4 weeks ago i payed 450.00 i did this thinking it would be cheaper than getting the real front bumper. I come to find out i got a suprise when it arrived 4 weeks after i ordered it i had to pay 328.48 for shipping thats almost as much as the bumper itself cost so now were looking at 770 total cost so far i go to the body shops the lowest quote i get is like 350 to have it painted and put on. now the cost is 1120 now i also have to pay about 30 bucks for the new mesh grill. Now were at 1150. Now i could of gotten the authentic mazda speed bumper from mazda for 1100 free shipping and they said it would cost less than 100 dollars for them to put it on for me. now thats a 50 dollar diference and i wouldnt of had to wait 4 weeks plus another week and a half to have it installed and i woulda had the real bumper... So if anyone is looking down the urethane road make sure you check out about shipping and all that kinda stuff before u put out the money cuz u might not be saving as much as you oringinally thought!

why was the shipping that much? I've sent a complete bodykit to the east coast that cost only $175.

1100 Free shipping for the real MS front? From where? I'm sure other members would like to know... that's cheaper than Rosenthal's.

I know shipping is expensive b/c it comes by freight, but I don't know if $328 is too expensive or not.

I do agree with you in that you must consider all costs involved when going with replica. If you don't have a hook-up somewhere, expense wise you're almost better off going with the real kit.

Now you see why people here always warn people when they ask about the knock-off kits. They always seem like great deals until you really get into it. 95% of the time you end up spending as much or more than if you bought the real thing.

If you got ripped off, it's not by Rotary Extreme. The freight shipping company charges you the shipping at the door. I got the whole MS urethane kit from Rotary Extreme for $1100 & the freight company charged me $125 at the door. I'm at Bay Area, CA & the shipment is coming from LA, CA so where the heck are you at for the shipping company to charge you $300+. Oh yeah, it took only 4 days to get mine shipped. $350 to paint & install the front bumper is a pretty good price in my opinion.

I got the same kit it's actually a KBD, I didn't pay that much for shipping ($125 to N.J.) however, I bought custom anodized grill mesch ( $90) fog lamp stays ($77)mounted it and drilled it myself and the lowest quote to paint and finish $600!!!
This was because the area around the blinkers on the fenders does not fit and needs trimming big time as well as the bumper itself is so wavy and uneven most shops around here wouldn't even touch it!!! So at the end of the day im in about $1,400!!! Lesson learned if it sounds too good to be true....it is! Go with the Mazdaspeed its easier to mount(very little fabrication) and it's about the same price painted!!!

Maybe he did authorized them. He shouldn't have paid 300+ bucks for shipping... but I'm sure he agreed to it when he ordered it.

Just for everyone to know, we do not charge shipping when it goes out by freight because we do not make money on shipping. Shipping is paid to the freight company directly. Shipping is usually not that much. I don't know why they chaged you so much on shipping. Email me your name and I will talk to the freight company for you to see if they forget to apply our discount on your shipment.
