hey guys I was thinking of purchasing this body kit:
http://www.andysautosport.com/mazda/...r00072288.html
Do u think I ll have problems with speed bumps?? also my rx8 will be track raced a lot so I want to give some space for the exhaust to breath at the rear bumper. I have the mazdaspeed racing exhasut. Do u think I should be fine with that? do u guys race your rx8 with bodykits?

eek.
those kits are notorious for hit or miss fitment. Personally not my taste in body kit but you'll be fine with the racing beat exhaust. And yes, some people do track with their kit's but you're putting them at risk for rock chips and such.

I only chose duraflex as they re pretty cheap. Could u recommend me some good companies to look after then!? or a good online store that I can order them from? I currently live in chicago
thx in advance
Marek
Honestly- If you want to go with quality - it's always best to buy original. Japanparts.com, mazmart, fluid and other vendors on this website should have access to all the original kits. You should check them out and send them a message.
However since you asked about replica's - my company of choice is Shine Autoproject (www.shineautoproject.com)
here's there ebay link: http://stores.ebay.com/shineautoproj...QQftidZ2QQtZkm
Their kits all have pretty good fitment (8/10). a lot of other forum members have their kits as well with very little complaint.
Here's my kit from them:

Thx, Atilla. They are a bit more expensive though. That duraflex is everywhere. lol. Where ever I go, they sell that duraflex and $500 body kit is an awsome price :D have anyone even heard of them?? I would like to keep the costs down as much as possible.
Yeah, i've heard of them - i've also seen them in person - problem is they're still capable of breaking at key points - as another forum member has shown me, the area's near the corner of our headlights are very weak - meaning if you bottom out by the front end, you'll practically snap the kit in half
p.s. - Thanks Kersh!

so that shineproject comapny is much better?
I found that kit on their forum:

it doesnt look half bad. I m just wondering is that front bumper gonna decrease the airflow to my cold air intake!? or I m just being paranoid. lol
If anything it'll increase the air flow - the front opening is actually larger than the oem, so it should work out nicely.
Only problem would be scraping...the kit is kinda low and if you're drop is aggressive, you may run into issues.

From dealing with multiple replica companies I've realized that replica's are always hit or miss. I only suggested Shine because i've done business with him a couple of times and every time, he's come through for me. So far no replica company has impressed me nearly as much both in fitment and in communication - Other's may disagree but to each their own experience really.
Like i said...If you can't find a reputable replica company - just hit up one of the vendors and message them for special club member pricing. It might help

did u have any problems with your lip kit!?? I have a velocity red rx8 and check out this pic:

That looks sweet
its taken right from their website. Also I think that many fitting problems will be minimized with the lip kit as it just sticks to OEM bumpers. Did u have to go through any special treatment for that kit??
thx in advance man, u re helping me a lot here.

^that 8 belongs to a forum member: Photomunkey
he's a cool guy but recently sold his kit to another forum member from Socal. Rx Ocho
No special treatments when i put on the kit. Just some screws and 3m double sided sticky tape. There is a small gap in the side skirts but they can easily be filled in...there's already a thread about this...i'll try and find it for you.
