sorry to hijack ur thread anthony but i didn't want to make another thread about hoods
does anyone have a pic of the red carbon kevlar varis rx8 hood? i think if the red closely matches the color of the rx8 it may be a good idea to save up the cash and get something unique.
i tried searching but couldn't find anything satisfactory. thx for the help

found it. I realize you're leaning towards the Veilside, just thought I'd share this as well.

Too bad, that's not even close to what the Varis Red Kevlar looks like..
Go here Jordan.. You can click on their site to see what the red looks like. http://www.varis.co.jp/japanese/bonn...oolbonmaz.html Also, here is a picture of their Red Kevlar products, it almost looks purple.

all cf hoods that i am aware of weigh more than the oem rx8 hood by a few lbs. the cf hood is nothing more than some cf on top of fiberglass and then some metal support under it.
now, if you get some real dry carbon fiber panels from speedsource or something, then that would be a different story. But you wouldn't be paying $700 for it either.

I might know a few shops that would do that type of custom work.. No, I don't have the Veilside hood. I said, I was going to buy it but instead I bought the Seibon TSII hood. I will replace it with an authentic R Magic hood!
