Question Aero Side Flares

So I recently got the aero side flares for my car.. The only problem is they're black and my car is lighting yellow. I was thinking of actually keeping them black and seeing what they'd look like since I planned on painting the rims black as well.. If it comes down to it though to paint them yellow how would I go about doing so? Anyone know any good DIYs? Or what are some of your opinions on what I should do?

Paint is usually best left to professionals. The chemicals and equipment are one thing, but to get a good finish you need a certain amount of skill. Otherwise it looks like ***. Ask how I know.

I'm sure you screwed something up badly then lol, I got a quote to professionally paint them. They said $100, is that a good deal or should I keep looking?

considering they dont have a lot of area to paint i would think thats a decent price. considering that they are using high quality paint that wont get sun damaged after 6 months.

$100 is worth it for saving your time trying to do it. Just to give you and idea, you will need:
Compressor, paint gun, base coat colour and thinner, dust-free area to work, mask and breather (unless you like cancer), clear coat and thinner and the right temperature. That's way more than $100 and not guarantee of quality.

Like above said tho, just make sure they use OEM paint, they should ask your for Mazda code for your colour.

It's much cheaper to just paint the flares yellow, rather than paint the whole car.

Why don't you just trade them by mail??? OP paying the shipping for both should be cheaper than paying $100 for painting them...

Another way to save some money in a paint job is to do some preparation yourself (maybe you can at least sand the flares down).

this..

ask the shop first, a lot of the money you spend for painting is allllllll the prep work involved, usually they will go for it since prep work is a pain in the ***.

look it up what to start with, and work up stages until 1000-2000 grit sandpaper or even more if you want, 3000, 4000...
