need suggestions for aftermarket parts please!

hey all, i'm SO excited to about to become a mazda rx-8 owner with ya'all!! my dark grey titanium 6-sped gt package just arrived and i'm picking it up tomorrow!! i purposely did not get any spoiler or appearance package because i wanted to do some aftermarket stuf to it (nothing crazy). this is my first car and i've never done any modifications to a car, so i'm a newbie here. i need sugeestions on where i can pick out some really cool spoilers and some underbody kits. i want to make it look COOL! like i said, nothing crazy like some of those people who put huge spoilers on that don't even match the car. i want something slick yet different enough from the factory stuff that it stands apart. i don' t even know where to begin looking or how to even order this stuff. or do i just go to a shop and have them do it all?

and most importantly, when dealing with aftermarket stuff, are there any dangers i need to know about? such as people runing my brand new car trying to put stuff on it? or someone doing a bad paint job that ends up making it look worse??

any comments and suggestions would be appreciated! thanks!!!

Question accessories

Has anyone purchased and installed the aluminum door sills?

They look like they might avoid the scratches showing up on my black plastic sills.

Any comments?

Thanks

I have installed them on mine (picture link in signature). You might want to compare the coverage area, I'm not sure you get a lot of "scuff" protection from the aluminum ones. Check out the picture and compare to your stock plastic - see what you think.

They ARE pretty, though.......

They look great and are very easy to install. That said -- they don't really cover the area that gets scuffed (at least in my car). The area that gets scuffed is the black plastic piece that is above the sill plate.

What accessory to get?

Hey guys just wanted to ask your general opinion. My girlfriend wants to get me an accessory (christmas gift) for my 8 and she wants to spend up to $300. I have a bunch of accesories as you can see in my sig. already. So what do you think, any suggestions? I was thinking some exaust finishers or some B pillars?

Thanks voodoo, but forgive me in asking, What does canzoomer's stage 1 do? or is there a thread where I can read about it. I was also thinking about the B pillars.

"aftermarket accessories"

i did a search and didnt come up with much, but has anyone or isnt anyone interested in making cheaper versions of the accessories i.e. rotary accents etc... or is what MAzda sells actually considered decently priced? I am considering getting the rotary accents, because without them, the front and back look kinda out of place imo, but they are kind of expensive. I know painting them is an alternative, but I would have thought some company would have made cheaper copies by now. In the end I guess I could just try to make it all myself but that might require a bit too much effort and money. Probably would be more expensive than buying the stuff retail.
