Hey everyone! If anybody got their 8 tinted, please post pics on this thread. I'd like to see all colors the 8 comes in with the tint. I'd like to compare shades and colors of tint. This could be useful for anyone interested in putting it on.

Where did you guys get the strakes?

I didn't want to go too dark, but after seeing it I think I could've gone a little darker on the back window. But then again, the visibility out the windows at night is good, so I'm happy with it.

Formula One all metal film.
Side front windows - 50% (just a little darker than legal in CA )

Thanks Voodoo...they look great. Saw a SL500 today with the strakes and now I want them. Sounds like they are easy to install. Any issues with paint contact (scratches)?

Hi Mike! Thanks for the compliment (thanks to Rich606 too! ).

I thought any tint on the driver/passenger windows was illegal in CA too, but the guy at the place I had mine done told me that 70% was legal in CA on the driver/passenger windows. He had a film called "Ultra Clear UV" or something like that that he said had 85% light transmission (70% combined with glass) that was legal in CA. He recommended the 50% for aesthetics and said that almost no one has problems with it. He said if you get a ticket, they'd remove it at no charge.

With regards to your concern about the strakes scratching the paint. They have a cushion on the back side to prevent this. I have not received my car yet, but looked at one at the dealership that had strakes because I have the same concern. You could clearly see that the strakes were cushioned.
