I'm getting ready to do some software tuning soon. First I wanted to sort out something i've noticed since I got the M flash and newest canzoomer map. If I start at lower rev's (2000 rpms) and floor it I notice a gradual power increase until about 4000-4500 rpm then I notice a drop in power before it takes off again at 5000rpms. I have the amuse exhaust which is kinda loud at those rev's, I don't hear any pinging, but then again I don't know if it's just the exhaust is too loud and I can't. I have experience tuning subaru motors with TEC-II stuff, but this is my first rotary and I heard they really hate detonation and pinging. So my question is, should I try to increase ignition advance at that rpm point to smooth out the power? Or should I try reducing it to see if it's pinging that's causing a power loss? I don't think it's the coil packs because I only notice the power drop off at that specific rpm point, not the whole low end. Thanks in advance.
