Rotarys Oil
I couldnt find any threads relating to this topic, but if there is an existing one i apologize.
Anywho, my question regards the proper oil to use with a rotary engine, i know synthetic is a very thin oil and can cause older engines to leak like crazy. So im curious if this would cause a problem with the rotary, apex seal leaks, or general leaks. Any imput, experience, or street smarts would be much appreciated. -TOFUDRIFTER |
No body flame the noob.
With the modest bit of looking around or spending some time here, you would find that twice a week someone is starting a new thread about what kind of oil am I to use in my car. There is already too much information posted to sum it up in one reply. Anything beyond using what is recommended by Mazda is taking an educated guess. And, there are many here that are very experienced and rotary educated. |

Can we change the rules, Al?
|
Talk to the Admins. I'm betting the answer will be no.
|
:( how are we supposed to have fun now that nobody opens interesting threads but it's all about the mpg\oil\fuel\bad idle?
I want a sandbox and some tools to play in! :) |
Make up parody threads about mpg\oil\fuel\bad idle in the Lounge and make up funny answers. There will be people that won't have a clue that you are being funny and try to get all serious. Then you have fun with them.
That's what the Lounge is for. The Tech area is for serious discussion. |
So are you moving this to the lounge? :)
|
No, and I expect you to be using your best behavior young man.
|
I'm just bored, without an arm everything is boring. You can't drive, wrench, hump, workout etc.
I will behave politely anyway, wiseman ;) |
All these rules are leading to some boring posts. I'm going to go take a nap.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

and to the OP, this is how you search here, it's better, faster, and easier to use then the built in search

Back in the ole days we did use Amsoil synthetic oil for our Race RX7s, but we rebuilt the engines at the end of the race season anyway. Now you have good premix from people like Pettit racing, to help the engines stay lubed and last. And the premix will combine with your gas and properly combust. |
let's not get the noob into his first Dyno vs Synthetic arguement right off the bat.
