The first time when connecting to the car, the very first thing was a warning message that the car already had another custom and needed to back it up before the Versatuner could write down its program.
On the tune page, you can compare two tunes as flashed, choose what you want to compare with the one you are working with, and then when hover the mouse on the number it shows the number on another map on a box.
Or at least this is how it working for me!

"Minimap" is basic, with a few changes like removing the check engine for cat delete, fans coming on sooner, a bite more oil OMP ( which **** up the car on cold was that much burning eyes, and the point I theories the correlation on oil injector and engine temp, ) if they bother changes throttle response and IG dwell.

I highly doubt it was a ME than..
As it is not just maps, its also ecu software.

When I did mine, I had to flash oem map before I could do anything.
Thought it was 3 years ago, so they might have obtained the function to read them.

There's a map that sets minimum position of OMP vs coolan temp, but it's not brought forward by ME or VT.

So... figured this is the best place to post this.

I've been working on something big for the past few years and I plan to release a whole new definition for the OEM ecu. Just look at how much talk and assumption was made over the terrible map descriptions(and number!) that mazdaedit and/or versatune provide. I plan to change that:

Just compare what you know of tuning the stock ECU vs:

Ciprian - This is a much appreciated and useful effort - no doubt about it, please don't take the below as any sort of negative commentary towards you per se - However, I want to state that:

The fact that the resources utilized to enable your output by using countless efforts of hundreds if not thousands of people before you, like the knowledge base that came from this very forum and many other parts of the internet for free, makes the goal of crowdfunding FIFTY THOUSAND dollars from a community of car enthusiasts that is shrinking by the day and likely wouldn't be able to crowdfund even FIVE thousand dollars, somewhat unrealistic.

Every time I visit this forum over the past 10 years, I see questions less and less frequently answered and the common comment of "few folks with knowledge frequent this place" appear as a regular mantra.
I'm sure that's not news to you, as you and maybe 10 other people make up the true frequent contributors on here lately.

If you have the work done and the knowledge exists, I would either set the donation bar much lower, or give the knowledge to the remainder of the enthusiasts who can make use of it for free after a year, and collect whatever donations folks do choose to give over the next 10+ years when they come across your contribution and the donation link.
Again, you are a much valued and respected member, I've seen your posts over the years - many props to you for them and for this. It just may be a bit too late in this platform's history to expect the kind of return on your time and efforts as you may have had, say in 2010, when the car was still at it's peak ownership and existence. I hope I am wrong, just wanted to put out some expectations.

I will contribute to you myself, and encourage others to do so, just don't want the remainder of the community to miss out on something as amazing as this, simply because there are just not enough of us to make up $50k worth of donations. But maybe that is the way 14yr old out-of-production platforms go.

Appreciatively,

sil80

If 25 people can stomach spending $2000 on a standalone to get it to do what can be done with the stock ECU, then 25 * $2000 = 50k. I'd almost bet that they sold more than those already in the past 2 months.
This is excluding the vast majority of people that would benefit from NEVER having the engine flood, never have it overheat again(because it would cut its own power and that would tip you off that something went bad), never deal with OMP limp mode(that really are down to faulty position sensors, the OMP itself is fine), never deal with check engine lights, emissions monitors and so on. You don't need a standalone for these. Nor do you need to pay $2000 for this.

As for just publishing everything now and hoping for the best... we're living in a world where people ask how to get around the licensing limitations of Versatune. As in... "I paid for 1 car, but I want to do another (of my) car(s).. how do I do that?". It's beyond wishful thinking, somewhere near plain foolishness. As if that wasn't enough, we have other "experts" making knock-offs of other great pieces of kit that truly deserve their $: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-maj...8/#post5008124
They knocked off a physical manifold that needs a foundry to be made... they will knock off anything if it's wanted enough, and they will still manage to screw up even copy-pasting.

If the fundraiser fails, then so be it. Nothing changes for anyone. We'll continue to have interesting and equally worthless topics like this one here, or this one: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-eng...erride-248857/ or this one https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-eng...urther-253444/ or this one https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-eng...tables-271938/

The one about engine load limiter is my favourite. One guy surely knew what it does, but decided to speak in riddles just for clout. I've posted the meaning of it here https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-eng...daedit-276041/
...and the list goes on.
