You don't need to know the address of it anyway. Epifan has it mapped on the 4 ports.

I am considering moving to MazdaEdit to handle some codes my car is throwing. Forgive me for not reading the previous 43 pages if this was already answered but would the personal edition of MazdaEdit give me the capability to permanently eliminate the following codes:
P0661 P2004 P2009 P0076 |
Yes it would allow you to block those codes, but consider the possibility that the error codes your car is outputting could be there because something is actually wrong with your car. That's what they're there for.

For only $250 I'm ready to jump on this since it will let me tackle other codes if they pop up in the future since I can no longer get access to modify with the AccessPORT since COBB won't give me the software. I don't suppose anyone could help me track down which tables and values to change to accomplish my goal? |

Change 01 to 00 on the codes you want to ignore. 2x tables to change - see the check boxes on the left of the screen for table names. |

The end-user ATR software also puts the AP serial number in any map you save. Sorry, new member. I understand that posting new threads/ questions is a big no-no but I do have one question. After skimming through this thread it seems that MazdaEdit is the way to go for S2 ecu tuning. Is this accurate?

Awesome. Thank you. I suppose my next question is that if I do a 13b rew engine swap, would I need to replace the ecu with an rx7 ecu? And if I replaced it with an rx7 ecu, would I then be able to use flashes and piggybacks for that ecu?

While the stock ecu could technically be made to run an REW swap, a standalone like Adaptronic is the preferred choice for that purpose. While there isn't a specific S2 Adaptronic plug & play, it wouldn't be terribly difficult to make one work even if you have to wire everything yourself.

Is it possible to turn off the OMP, so the stock ECU does not look for it?
I'm trying to setup an RX7 engine and pass emissions, wondering if there is a way to run the engine without the RX8 front cover and OMP. Thanks! |
I had completed ~250 miles after doing the DTC fix but as soon as the tech plugged in his diagnostic box all the codes that had been set to 00 showed up again in addition to several U codes (which he said may not be a problem for emissions). Does this have to do with the DTC OPT table? I saw earlier in the thread there was conjecture that this was the severity and a 00 bit means no severity available. I reflashed my codes with the OPT table set to 00 this time.
After flashing and clearing codes with MazdaEdit I checked with Torque. After pulling codes I noticed my 00 codes were still shown there as well but in grey, which according to Torque means the engine itself will clear them once it feels its ready. I used the Torque app to clear the engine codes and checked again but this time no codes at all were found. How can I ensure that when I take the car in whatever diagnostic tool they have doesn't trigger latent or historic codes? I found Torque also has Emissions Drive Cycle info so I can use that to see when the car is ready at least. Will setting the DTC tables to 00 prevent any of the emissions monitor tests to not complete? |
So with the Tactrix is there an easy way to start/stop logging? Or do you need a laptop with you while logging? I think I read somewhere that you can put a parameters file on the Tactrix SD card that will tell it what you want to capture without a computer but it wasn't clear how to start/stop logging. With the Cobb AP you just press the button to start and again to stop.

Without the RX-8 OMP, the stock ecu will go into limp mode which could only be fixed if your using a mechanical throttle body. But your going to be running into not ready issues anyway which Mazdaedit cannot fix.
