LogCFG file request for help ME Tactirx logging

Hello All

I've just completed a homemade supercharger install on my 231 rexi ( 2nd one for me) and while I've used ME for a few years to do all the NA tuning , I'm looking for some advice for getting ignition advance to work and the knock retard channels to work with a tactrix logger. I've done many searchs / research and found lots of helpful advice but I've got 2 channels which are proving troublesome

for ignition advance I have this
paramname=Timing_Advance
mode=0x01
paramid=0x0E
databits=8
scalingrpn=x,128,-,0.5,*

for knock I have this
paramname=KnockRetard
mode=0x22
paramid=0x1746
databits=8
scalingrpn=x,0.3521126761,*

I get data but not that I trust - what have I got wrong ?

my SC install if you are interested https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/foru...?f=104&t=83804

any help would be much appreciated
Ta Matt

my question is what have I done wrong with those 2 channels ? as the ignition advance only reads + / - 0.5 and the knock retard signal is a flatline / no reading

Ah, 3/4 of the post seems to be in black/gray because

Once highlighted:

The PIDs are correct but the knock retard one is broken from the factory in all rx8s. More info here https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-maj...0/#post5001670
As for the timing one, dunno, must be some maths division/subtraction done on integers instead of floating precision. I never used my tactrix like that, I log with mazdaedits logger.

OK thanks so its borked from the factory then...... great

I'm assuming the knock retard function does actually work though - just not reported over CAN

Yes, it works, but not reported.
If you make it work and log timing and knock side by side, it becomes clear it works.

Just make it work you say ? Is this something that can be done in Mazda Edit
or do you need a VECTOR can tool ?

Search for a lone solitary value of 0.3516 and replace it with -0.3516.

If you can't figure it out send me the file and a beer's worth.

Knock "detection" is something else. You are now able to log it.
