So could the OMP simply not be able to pump against the higher compression that's a result of the higher boost; said differently the pressure at the OMP outlet is much higher than the OMP line pressure and the OMP is deadheading (infinite slip of oil in the pump with no forward flow)?

I think what he means is that the oil volume being pumped is still not enough to properly lubricate at higher RPMs.

Yeah, it is for an AT N/A, 8000 RPM. So leave it at 12% and premix (I am premixing 7oz AmSoil Interceptor on 14gal fuel)

I haven't tested to see if that combo (omp plus premix at 200:1) will make your engine last but it does seem logical.

Here's what I know works:
1/ OMP maxed out at relevant load and rpm ................. ok up to around 10psi without any additional premix.
2/ Turn off omp and premix at 120:1 (100:1track) enables you to run safely at over 10psi

Yes ..that's what I meant ....and I know this from (bitter) experience .
At around 14 psi while running E30 ..... you will bend your apex seals if you rely soley on the omp ...fact.
If you aren't running any ethanol you might get away with it ....but then you might grenade the engine so .......................

Ok, thanks. Does the OMP max out at 60 steps? Or can I set it higher than 60?

60 is maximum setting ...any higher wont increase the flow and there is some risk you might drive rack off the pinion !

I guess this is the final nail in the coffin for the Cobb. Wouldn't recommend anybody purchases this software from a third party anymore.

Pretty prophetic for me to have gotten and saved a copy of every version for my Cobb device way back when.

ought to bump up the value when I sell it once the Adaptronic pcm is installed ;)

So what you are saying is that they said they will no longer supply the RX8 software? Did they post this publicly on COBB's website? Because that means the RX8 was removed from the tuning course from EFI University, and it's still there and available. Wonder what would happen if you purchased the course, they would have to provide you with the software. I would call and talk to someone else just to make sure they are just not talking about "support" for the COBB, which is what they told me last year.

This was the reply a customer got when he asked for help with his unit ...which had stopped working.

Gotcha. Wonder if they will eventually remove the RX8 from the "Get AccessTUNER" list and stop providing the software...

That installer is for your AP serial # and for the year/tranny you requested. If you can provide proof of ownership and took the EFI University course they (where or) will send you the year/model and your AP serial # installer. That's what we are trying to decipher here.
