I have the AP should i get a data logger as well?

I have the COBB AP purchased thru MM but should i also get a data logger as well? Currently I am running NA but in the near future I wil being going to FI via MM turbo setup. I think I rember someone saying they needed a data logger to go with their AP but also i think i rember someone else saying the COBB will data log in the near future or was I dreaming. I have read soo much that my brain is fried and i can't really keep up all the news I'm a hands on kind of guy but i'm in iraq so i can't touch anything. Long story short should i get a data loger and from who?? Leaning toward EFIdudes.

Rumor is that Cobb is coming out with a datalogg function, when that is who knows. I suggest you do get a logger since the most information you get to MM the better maps he can provide. I went with the EfiDude as well, mainly due to the costs, it's the cheapest one out there at $150. The others let you see the data in real time but you have to have it plugged into a laptop (Hymee). With the Dude you just plug it in and drive then download the data. Before you do WOT runs with the Dude you need to make sure you check your AFR's with the AP to make sure your not dangerously lean at WOT >14. Check out post 2046 on this thread https://www.rx8club.com/mazdamaniac-183/cobb-accessport-discussion-140117/page52/ I included a file from the Dude.

Everyone who mods or plans to mod their car NEEDS a datalogger!

the MM maps are very accurate. If you have a wideband and boost gauge, you can just watch those to make sure your car is functioning properly.

If the car isn't working properly, then a datalogger would be ideal in order to send logs to Jeff so he can make whatever adjustments are required.

However with that said, all the issues I've had so far were with outside items - CAI and fouled spark plugs.
