emanage w/ greddy turbo harness?
hey guys i recently purchased a greddy emanage unit from a board member who did not need it after switching to the int-x. i have made sure to research relevant threads as much as possible before asking questions but i am still unsure about a few things. this is for a N/A rx-8 owner who may boost in the future but will be staying N/A for a little while and at the same time try learn a lil something about tuning before stepping into the world of FI.
1. using the harness which comes w/ the greddy turbo kit, can i simply plug the unit into my stock ECU? (or is the correct term PCM? all this tuning stuff has me twisted up).
2. do i have to worry about the Jumper settings inside the E-manage which is mentioned in the emanage install manual? i got the instructions from www.mohdparts.com/emanage.
3. from what i understand the emanage which ships with the greddy turbo kit will only allow me to add or subtract fuel from given rpm points, but will not let me control the ignition timing. (i read that attempting to control ignition timing via the emanage and the stock coils is a recipe for instantly fried coils?)
4. is the only way to log my stock AFR curve to split a wideband 02 sensor into the wiring harness like mentioned in the stickied "Datalogging AFR in the eManage (blue) Support Tool" thread? or is there someway i could adapt the canscan software to my emanage to let me view my stock AFR curve from the stock 02 sensor?
5. from what i have read i should NOT attempt to tweak anything below 5500 rpm b/c of the closed-loop open-loop issues? (i have no idea about the specifics i just know the stock ECU gets touchy when the car is at low RPMS).
6. the only things i can do to try and tune the car is by adding and subtracting fuel and/or playing with the AFM? how do you tune the AFM? i am lost.
thanks in advance.
