CZ1 and NOS - Will this be OK?
I wouldn't recommend it. CZ may say different, but I think you'd run a serious risk of leaning out too much. Now with the Stage 3, you could customize a map that would be safer for a nitrous application.
The Stage 1 box can be configured to adapt to nitrous use. When you trigger the nitrous you also send a signal to the box to richen the mixture to compensate. We will have to add a wire and then reprogram. Basically this means you will need the programming cable and program - and some idea of what you're doing. You will also need a wideband O2 sensor.
ok i wanna purchase the zex kit ,and i also have stage 1 on order could it be possible for you guys to do that while you have that in hand do you have the experience for that,i know the cost would go up iam just not that good proggramming a ecu myself.thanks
OK, listen up smrx8 and everyone else. I'm not slamming anyone, just warning all of you.
If you want to play with boost or NOS or Stage 2 for that matter, you will need to learn how to tune a car. If you ignore this warning and try to take shortcuts, you will loose an engine! I've watched this happen in the 3rd gen community for years.
Maurice advises that if you want to use NOS you will have to get the Stage 3 unit and tune the car. We can't do that for you as we don't have access to your car, we don't have wideband O2 sensor readings, and we don't have EGT readings. You could hire a local tuner to help you. I know Gotham Racing in Texas is very good. There are lots of others.
I suggest you start reading up on wideband sensors and EGT measurements to see what you're getting yourselves into. I know lots of street racers "get NOS" and brag about going fast. What they don't tell you is how much all the stuff they destroyed cost! And how much tuning they had to do/have done to stop destroying parts.
Going fast costs money! How fast can you afford?
