Hard to tell from those pics if the allen screws (real?) are a different colour.

Can we see it on the car? More importantly, can we see it on a red one? :D

Generally, is it more solid than the standard filler cap cover?

Screws are in bright finish.

I will try an post a couple of pics soon.
-16C outside right now, so mechanicing in the driveway is out today.

The replacement caps are definitely stiffer than the stock painted one.
But then i never noticed that to be any kind of an issue?

I mainly posted this as there are two versions of this part, one in bright finish and one in dull, brushed aluminum finish.

Both versions of pics are posted here on this thread for comparison.

Several people had asked me about the difference between them.

Personally I like the brushed finish as the tone is a better match to the stock wheels.

Sweet! I think AMP Research (of full-suspension mountain bike and bed Xtender fame) makes those lids under contract with Mazda. AMP has the patent on the design and makes them for Mitsubishi, too, IIRC.

I just ordered some from Canzoomer. He gets back to me on my stupid questions really quickly.

For all, will a door where just the center opens be coming soon? Just like to know. Thanks.

Talking

Canzoomer

Could be interested in the fuel caps ,however as my rx8 is yellow i was wondering if the caps could be coated to black , brushed or polished siver would do very little on a yellow car IMO.

Can the caps be powder coated to black???

costs ???

If you have a speciality shop in your area that does powdercoating I'm sure it can be done

Cost around $30 max. Maybe less..
