Accessport question

Ok, question, I didn't have the air injection line for the greddy kit, so I blocked off both sides, the side to the downpipe and to the air pump. would this drop a code and check engine light p0410?

what did everyone else do, I thought people blocked them off?
also, isn't the accessport supposed to block p0410 with MM's tunes?

P0410 is blocked.
You should just take the whole airpump assembly out completely along with the valve and block the inlet on the DP (I provide a blocking plate on the upgrade kit).
You should move to the new calibration series. What e-mail did you use to purchase your AP?

One asking for the base maps, you sent me
MM 2004 MT TURBO v3b_0.ptm
and all the 1-5a and b's
I was planning to move up to the 4_0 map as soon as I get the recirc going I need to get the fitting. do the v3 maps block p0410? or only v4?

Now that you are installed, you should move to the v4.0.
Recirc is absolutely not necessary with the HKS.
I don't do it, though I've contemplated it because the between-gear stability will be better.
Stalling is not an issue with the GReddy kit, a good MAF setup and the HKS.

I used to use the hks but I was getting some backfires between gears sometimes and that cleared right up when I changed to recirc.

Yes. Backfires and a bit of soggyness between gears will happen with any VTA BOV.
But the HKS is one of the few that will not leak under any condition.

Greddy Turbo Kit and Accessport

Hey Jeff,

Sorry to bug ya, but I've just purchased a new Greddy kit, with the Ultimate. I already have an Accessport that I purchased from you. The N/A tune works great by the way.

My question is: Do I need to do anything different with the install to use your Accessport tune with the Greddy kit? Obviously, I don't have to install the E-Manage or the pressure sensor. I'm also not going to install the block plate on the 6-port, as you suggested. I made a block off plate for the air injection. I've also done the pressure tap right on the discharge nozzle to get a good pressure signal to the wastegate. I'm welding a bypass valve to dump the boost back into the inlet of the turbo, instead of a full BOV. I planned on starting the whole thing up on your boosted base map and sending you the usual datalogs.

Anything else I need to do differently..other than buy your upgrade kit?

Thanks,

Bill Johnson

The GReddy MAF housing/air filter sucks.
There are a multitude of solutions for that - just search around here for people that have installed custom intakes for the GReddy turbo.
I suggest the AEM intake - it requires some simple modification to fit, but it works perfectly.

Greddy - Accessport = Perfect

Finished my Greddy turbo install. Thank goodness for my Accessport, because the Emanage Ultimate looks like a real pain to install. There's almost no room in the PCM box for the harness.

I'm running on the base calibration for FI on my 2004 6-Speed. It runs pretty darn good on just the base. I'm seeing decent F/A ratios around 11.8 - 12.5 in the boosted range. (Yes, its hard not to really romp on it and see what it'll do) I've got the prelim datalogs and bas cal. with the 11 Deadly questions sent into MM. I've got the wastegate turned down as low as I can, without it leaking, which still gives me about 6 psi boost on my crappy gage. I'm waiting on a digital boost controller with gage to come in.

The car looks stock and almost sounds stock from the outside. Even in the engine bay, I modded the stock airbox to hold the Airnix, and keep it sucking cold air. I had to cut a window in the top of the airbox, and installed a Lexan cover, just so you could see a little bit of what's hidden inside. You can also see a hint of the intercooler behind my lower screen.

Some additional mods I made were a bypass valve between the IC piping, just before the throttle body and just downstream of the MAF. I used a stock 1G DSM valve, so it's pretty large, and has a nice smooth operation. (I had one laying around from a 97 Eclipse Spyder Turbo that I had). Without this, the turbo would surge everytime I let off the gas...shh...shh....shh....shh. Now it's quiet and works almost like an OEM turbo would.

Can't wait to get the next step of my tune, so I can do some WOT runs.
