My experiences with Cobb is that they are a great group of folks that deliver excellent, proven products. They also have a finite amount of energy and focus to spend developing products for a variety of cars, so product roll-outs can end-up being delayed at times. I think the best thing we can do is continue to show interest and support through the Cobb Mazda forum to let them know there is definitely an interest level worth supporting.

TeamRX8, do you work closely, or know the folks at Cobb?

I have the funds for this burning a hole in my pocket.
I'm as excited about this Accessport as I was for Gears Of War.

its being worked on, last I read on their forum they have cracked it, but are now working on getting their tuner to "talk" with the ECU. They are also working on many other cars I believe, so it's going to take a while.

So long as it's being worked on, I can be patient.

We could do bench flashes for any RX-8 (USDM AT/MT or otherwise) today. No problems. But putting together all that into an easily digestable handheld product that's still being developed for the Mazda takes a little more time.
So we all just need to be patient.

ya... I can't wait... It's the next thing on my list of engine upgrades until I somehow magically summon 10K...

I plan on doing several dyno runs before and after this AccessPORT, and with everything going too be done on my car within the week, I'm extremely curious too see the gains.

-ACT clutch/Prolite flywheel
-Agency Power pulley
-Agency Power exhaust
-RX8store.net's high flow cat
-K&N typhoon intake
-coolant mod? (i wonder if Accessport will do anything with that)

with all that done 10hp should be a minimum gain I'd think...

The AccessPort will allow you to change every single engine parameter, including when the fans come on and off

Not true, it will only allow you to change the parameters that they make available to you.

OK, maybe not ALL engine parameters, but most of them. Some of the uneccasary things won't be covered, but most will. And I'm almost possitive you will be able to change when the cooling fans come on and off

Why would you want to do that? Power is already falling off before redline as it should. Raising the rev limited isn't going to do anything for power or performance. If you did raise it and changed nothing else and tried to shift higher, you'd find that you are actually slower. Leave it alone. More is not always better and in most cases isn't.

I was out on Cobbs website the other day and noted in the products section that they are listing the Access Port for the RX8 for a spring 2007 availability. I left my two cents on the forum and then the next day I called Cobb to check status and the guy I spoke with confirmed that it was still on track for a spring 2007 release. I have been holding-back on getting the RB flash hoping that the AP would get released. It looks like it may have been worth the wait.

Not quite true if you alter the AFR mixture up top...
