I did my first full flush at 30k and am about to do my second at 60k. It's good to have 9 quarts of fluid handy.

Watch the shop like a hawk and scream bloody murder if they get any where near the pan.

Probably the best thing to do is ask around and find a good transmission shop in your area and see what they think. Don't just take it to the nearest place. If you've got a local car club ask them, ask friends, look at online reviews, etc. If you want, post your general location here. Maybe someone will know of a good place near you.

I'm in Hawaii. Anyone know of a reputable transmission shop on the island of Oahu?

While you have your pan dropped, clean it up and drill a hole in it and thread it so you can drain it without dropping it in the future and as ell be able to do 2 or 3 if you like changes of fluid. This is on my growing list of things to do in the winter. I did this on another car. I welded a small plate on the outside of the pan and drilled/tap and die installed the proper size bolt. I dimpled the center of the pan to help the oil flow there during oil changes. Low tech but effective lol.

I used Red Line D4 ATF. Working good for me.
