My 2010 GT has a large amount of water in the tail light. Since the LED lights cannot be removed and the 1 incandenscent bulb is in a central housing - where's the water coming in. I cannot get me Series II tail light to dry out. Ideas?

Let it sit in front of a dehumidifier for a couple of day? Sit in a bucket of rice? Give it a tan in the sun during dry days?

If moisture can get in, moisture can get out. The light isn't a check valve.

Take out the reverse and indicator/flasher globes.

Put tail lamp FACE DOWN so that the globe holes are facing up to the sky and put in the sun.

Just about every car maker has this issue, particularly if owners leave car outside after being in the sun and then the cold of night or heavy rain. It will take some time to clear.

If you cant wait for the large amount to evap, drill two fine holes into the edge (bottom) of where lamp sits in car (where the water is).

A small amount of condensation can and does grow into a flood IF this condensation can not vent out over time.

I don't have this problem as my cars are always garaged.
Lets us know how you get on.

Have look at my last post if you can find it in this thread. Essentially, if you are getting this much water in a tail light then you car likely suffers from a body seam issue like mine. I believe Mazda even has a bulletin on this defect.

Here's my advice.

Step 1, remove the trunk's interior panels. The back panel and loosening the side panels may be enough.

Step 2, with the trunk open pour a cup or so of water carefully between the seal and the body of the car, one side at a time

Step 3, look for where this water may be leaking into the trunk above each tail light

If you see water dripping above the tail light, it will fill the tail light from the back inside the trunk over time.

Step 4, remove the effected tail light

Step 5, seal where the body panels overlap each other in the small seam above each tail light with silicon or an seam sealant from a body shop supply store

Both of the seams above my tail lights leaked water as well as near the top corners of the trunk.

From a tail light condensation perspective, if 50%+ of the RX-8 owners report tail light condensation to the NHTSA website (as a safety hazard) Mazda will have to do something about it - including redesigning the gasket and replacement lights. Report your issues at: Recalls & Defects | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

I followed the instructions on how to open the tail light and also to seal up the hole with silicon from this YouTube video -

Then I removed the foam and replaced it with this Extreme Climate Rubber Tape after learning about this method from Slick8. You can read his posting at this thread - https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...7/#post3363422
