Well, I hate to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone know what the thread pitch is for the fender bolts?? I got the gas struts cheap on Amazon but don't know what thread size is needed.

Just did the mod. $55 tops. Din't want to wait for my struts to ship so I bought some from O'reillys. $35 for two Stabulus struts since they sold them individually. Didn't want to wait a week or two, so it could've been cheaper. Now I just have to paint my mounts red and I'll be 100% done with the project. Easy to do as well.

What parts you use?? Did you buy everything you need in O'Reilly?

No I didn't find everything at O'reillys. I only got the hood struts there. I bought bolts and extenders at ACE. I also bought the 90 degree brackets with the ball stud that was talked about on page 2. I'll post pictures soon.

Search "threaded ball stud" and then click "(Continued on following page)" at the bottom of the frame, and they have 10mm threaded ball stud part that eliminates the bracket on the fender for $1.96 each, and the brackets needed on the hood hinge $4.48 each.

$19.51 + $1.96 + $4.48 = $25.95 x 2 = $51.90
I'm trying to follow up on this and it seems like McMaster still has everything you need to do this, picture attached to make sure everything is correct.

The only thing I'm missing are the brackets for the hood hinge, anyone have suggestions?

As you see on page one, mine were just cut to fit from some one-inch aluminum angle stock.
Get your hacksaw out!

Does anyone here have an updated list of parts which can be used to do this mod?
