Whoa, that is - simply put - THE AWESOMEST DIY EVER!!!! I had no idea what was behind that plate. I was thinking that you could hide a turbo boost gauge in there, but now that i see what is behind it, it would not fit, but that would be awesome if it did hmm, what would I need switches for...Maybe there is a way to hookup all the interior lights to one switch, you flick it on and all the interior lights turn on... :p yeah that sounds cool (I just want those switches!!!!) :D

As for the switches...as you may be able to tell from the pictures...the Red and Blue switches control the Red and Blue LEDs in the Vents. And obviously if both are on, you get a somewhat purplish.
The green LED is used for enabling/disabling the Automatic lights. (As in the headlights automatically turning on when it gets dark out, delayed off when exiting the car at night, etc.)

Do you have a finished pic of all the interior work you've been doing?

^^^ All ya'all don't have auto lights! Just me! :D Naw, you didn't miss a DIY. That's just part of the integrated control system I designed. For security and privacy issues, I don't get into much of that stuff, beyond the functions, so sorry to say, don't expect a DIY.
As for some more interior pics....I took some last night...here's a taste of more things to come...

^^^ It's going to house the control module for the radar/laser detector - laser shifter, the EDFC - electronic control for the TEIN suspension, a microphone connected to the computer, and the light sensor for the automatic lights. I'd venture to say, check with me later this week...it should be completed, unless we venture to another area of the car again. There's still quite a bit to be finished, but hopefully should only take a couple more weeks.

jerkins, I know we don't have auto lights... I was just being goofy.
devoid, that's cool, I understand privacy. If you care to explain, what the heck is that thing you put on the side of the door? also, would you consider selling molds or whatever for one of those boxes above the mirror? or maybe post your template (just for the box itself, not what is in it)?

JenkinsCrew,
Great location for the switches, just finished putting mine in like yours, looks great . . . but now I am trying to wire up some interior leds and can't find a path to run the wires from the switches themselves. Am I missing something? If you look at your picture of the minidisc slot with the panel off, there is circuit board all around that compartment and a plastic tray houses the area from the underside of the dash. The only place I see that I can run wires to the switches is to either 1) get some kind of really skinny drill bit that will reach in and drill through the bottom tray or 2) take the entire head unit out to be able to get a drill in there to drill a hole.
Am I missing an easier path for the wires to leave the switches? Did you ever wire to your switches? If so, how?
Thanks for the great idea on the location of the switches though, I love that!

I actually took the Head unit out to run the wires, then when you put the head unit back in the wires lay at the very bottom with no drilling. I also meakes it easier if you pop out the switch plate before you put the head unit back in, then connect your wires and pop the switchplate back.
Hope that helps :D
