what is the lightest muffler? (not catback system)

I was thinking about doing a custom exhaust, kinda like the RB racing exhaust in design, but even lighter. Any ideas? I went poking around on magnaflow's website and didn't have any luck finding the weights. I thought about getting a Ti muffler and getting it custom mounted.

I would highly recommend the stainless scrubble packing option as the std. ceramic packing will not hold up to the rotary exhaust gas tempertures:

it will add approx. $30 to the cost. I actually had all the parts to build one similar to the new MS exhaust using these, but then stumbled on a used JIC Ti system for an awesome price so I got that one instead and canned the project.

Lightest set up I can think up would be a straight pipe with a resonator going into a custom Y-PIPE out the exhaust openings (no mufflers), that would be loud as hell FYI.

9 lb catback, it may possibly be FS soon or build your own:

hey teamRX8, can u share w/ us how loud a custom setup w/ the burns ultralite would be? assuming there would be two mufflers & a resonator...
& also, how much louder would this get w/ a high flow cat pipe as well?

it's hard to say since I never completed it, I intended to drop down to 2" mufflers since they are straight-thru and the flow is split in half to each one, this would have helped knock the noise down without impacting flow.

The single racing one I built in the link above is not too bad from outside the car, but it's pretty boomy inside when accelerating part throttle on the street. It would probably start to get on your nerves eventually with a daily driver.
