Mazdaspeed says 15.9 pounds but the sr motorsports is only 9.75.im not sure if the sr counts counterweight or not.Please anyone that knows i need to order this by monday.

 

SR does not count the counter weight. And after the counter weight it is about 14-16 pounds depending on which unit you get. I have a Fidinza and it weighed 9.5lbs and 14.9 with weight or so.

Much of the weight of the factory flywheel is towards the outside of it. Much of the weight of an aftermarket flywheel is closer to the inside of it. It isn't only how much it weights that counts but rather where is the weight located. Remember the faster it spins, the more weight that is farther out will appear to be heavier than the weight that is concentrated closer in. Locational effects on inertia is a big factor to consider.
