Unorthadox RX-8 Lightened Pulleys

ANyone use them yet? I was curious if there are any good and what the power gains there are to be had.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

No gains will be had from the pulley weight. Expect maybe 1 hp more on the high side. I have a very serious race use only underdrive pulley set for the RX-7. It drives the water pump slower than the engine and the alternator at the same speed as the engine. This is far more extreme than any street underdrive pulley set by far. They were dyno proven to gain 3 peak horsepower. Those will mostly add bling factor.

The dyno taken by Unorthodox racing that is shown on there website with the ten horse power gain, was there best dyno run out of six runs. The others shown an average of 5 hp increase.

Not a very good company.

Many people have had problems with them.

I have to agree with Razz1 on this one. I was talking to my mechanic this past week when he was doing an install of my equipment, and I mentioned that UR was putting out some pulleys for this car, and he said stay away from them. He used to work on a lot of Mitsubishi (Eclipses) and said they were terrible on them. Also said the Prelude said had some major issues.
