Typhoon Intake...Not a good investment

So I've been having problems with power loss/hesitation since I put my new K & N Typhoon intake in. I did not want to believe that I wasted $240 bucks so I tried everything to keep this intake system on. Well nothing I did changed the power loss so I riped that piece of *$*% off and went back to stock. My '8' rides like a champ again.

Anyone buy a system like mine and have similar problems? I'm very disappointed. K & N is big enough, don't they road test their product before offering them to the public?

Well anyway, I'm gonna hang on to it and see if it is something with the higher levels of air turbelance that freaking out the mass air sensor. That's my hunch. Maybe the Stage 1 mod will level things out when I get it...soon hopefully.

That's odd, according to my Gtech I saw a 3Hp increase across the board plus a short 10Hp spike from 6k-7.5k RPMs.

Did you check for vacuum leaks?

No power loss or hesitation experienced with mine. Very happy with the investment.

Well that's odd. I went back to stock anyway. I'm gonna run the thing into the dealer to have them check out everything. I'll see what they say and then put the intake back on. I thought it was a vacuum issue to. I checked, checked and double-checked the setup to see if I had a hosing correct. Everything seemed correct.

I expected a slight gain also, that's why I'm suprised to see an actual decrease in HP.

Maybe I'll not knock the product yet until I check everything out.

Thanks

I've had the intake on for almost 2 months. No problems, no loss of H/P. Not sure what the deal is. I'm here in Phx too so it can't be an issue of heat. I don't think you wasted your money, BTW whare did you get it from and pay $240? We sell them for $199.
