typhoon cover?

I was wondering if anyone had heard of any cover to go over the top of the K&N typhoon intake system to reduce noise, and keep hot air from entering. I plan on ordering the B&B exhaust and midpipe with resonator. i am afraid that the car will be too loud and become annoying with this exhaust, midpipe, intake combo. Is there anything that i can do to the intake to reduce the noise a little bit?

The typhoon intake system doesn't come with a cover - what they refer to as a "heat shield" is merely a 3-sided wrap around which leaves the top bare. If you are looking for an intake with a cover, Rotary Extreme makes one that you might be interested in. As for the noise reduction - I think there was someone on this forum who dynamated the Rotary Extreme intake's aluminum cover (dynamat is a sound dampener normally used to reduce audio related rattle) . Try running a search for that thread, or check out the DIY section. I have a friend who used dynamat extreme (sound dampening + heat resistance) and wrapped it around the heat shield of his typhoon intake, as well as around the intake piping itself; it did wonders for vibration and sound dampening. Hope that helps some.

i already have the intake on with the heatshield. putting that dynamat extreme dampening stuff sounds like a good idea. i didnt think that the rotary extreme cover would fit the K&N setup because i dont no what it would clamp to. i also dont think that they sell the regular cover sepreatly. I think they will be selling a carbon fiber one but its not wirth paying for that. do any other companys make covers or does anyone have pictures or info of what the have done to reduce sound of the K&N?
