I saw this high flow catalytic converter for sale listed online and wonder if anyone has it and if it will pass inspection (not throw a cel) and if it holds up to the high heat our 8's put out. I could only find reviews for the midpipe w/o cat and the catback system. If money allowed I'd purchase the bhr one but funds are low and this ones half the price of bhr.
I have it, been installed about 4 months now. no codes although my 06 Shinka did not set any codes with the race pipe installed. Did not change the tone or loudness and very impressed with the quality.

What difference did the catted midpipe do then? Any noticeable power/torque? Marginal MPG increase? Sound?
Over he stock cat, a noticeable seat of the pants increase, over the race mid pipe that comes with the Turbox cat back about the same. It is 3 inches all the way from the header to cat back. As far as sound maybe a little less then the race (non cat) pipe, barely noticeable. Mileage , I noticed a slight increase maybe 1-2 miles mpg, hard to have a soft pedal with RX8. Again very happy with the cat mid pipe.
Awesome to hear! It should pass inspection being that it's a 200 cell cat converter. Thats the main thing I need, the rest is icing on the cake. I'll take an increase in gas mileage and a few extra horses!

How is it after a year? just wondering if its holding up.
So far great. 6000 miles, 7 runs at the drag strip and I don't really baby the car on the street. Never had it on a road course though which is the best test - constant high rpm. I view it not a long term thing like the oem cat. Hope this helps.
Fyi, i have a mangaflow 59959 200cpi metal HFC weld into my turboxs midpipe, no codes at all.
Cheap and the car runs better. If it blow out, just replace the cat, less than 100 bucks anyway. :P

Alright, thanks for all the info. Is it much louder than the OEM cat? Not that it matters, just wondering. I don't drive a ton, just like 15 miles a day or so, and run it hard on the weekends when I want to have some fun, so I think this should hold up good enough. I assume no cel?

Recently purchased this product, and I was assured by turboxs.com via PM that it will mate to the factory flanges of both the header and catback exhaust.
When I went to install it, the rear flange of the cat pipe was clocked about 1.5" out of square with the factory flange.
Upon emailing turboxs about the problem, they informed me it is designed to fit their cat back system only. There is no note on the website, and misinformation being spread by their forum sales presence.
Did anyone else have this problem?

The turbo XS midpipe I am pretty sure will only fit their cat-back system. This has been known and mentioned plenty of times.
Honestly, I dislike their midpipes (too raspy and loud) for my personal preference. Though, their cat-back sounds awesome (I have it paired up with a BHR midpipe = best combo ever).
Though, there have been people on this forum that have "modified" their [Turbo XS] systems to fit correctly with OEM parts. It isn't fun, but I think that is the only option.

In anycase, I think I will just take it to an exhaust shop, have them cut the flange off and re weld it.

As of today, Summit still lists the product as having OE flanges and it seems his staff is still providing misinformation.
It will fit a bhr midpipe just fine. It will not however mate with the OEM cat flange. The "humps" on the studs are too large that the flange on the TXS exhaust doesn't slip over them. You need to drill out the holes on the TXS to get it to fit (not fun, thick).
I returned my cat pipe to TurboXS for a full refund (including shipping, plus they paid for it on the way back too). So at least their customer support was excellent.
The explanation they gave me was that their cat back has a floating/loose flange so that it can mate to any exhaust system. Because they don't have to worry about their cat back flange, they probably don't care where the rear flange of their midpipes end up. Certainly limits their market, but to each their own.
In summary: disappointing that a simple change in manufacturing process could alleviate the problem and they choose not to, but they have pretty good customer service/hassle free returns.
