Question True electrical O2 "simulator"

Has anyone successfully made or found an actual electrical O2 simulator that will work for our cars. In theory, it should be easy enough to make one, but i don't have an oscilloscope or anything of the sort to test the output frequencies/voltages etc. A schematic diagram or something of the sort would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so.

(From the research done in 2004) the ECU checks the second O2 sensor (every so often) by cycling a little rich then a little lean, and expecting a similar (delayed) signal from the sensor.
I don't see how an electrical circuit could successfully mimic that.

This ain't no Civic.

Will you give it a rest guy? People are going to take their cats off and you posting snide comments online isn't going to change a thing.

But that's just how TeamRX8 responds to these types of things lol.

It wouldn't be www.rx8club.com without him. Hahaha.

it would need to be a little more sophisticated, yes, but I still think it could be done.

has anyone ever ran their car through emission testing and passed with OBD2 only, an access port to eliminate cell codes, and a mid pipe / racing cat?

I'd be curious to know if it would still "pass" with no codes.

It definitely would not pass a sniffer test. Even my own sniffer detects a problem.

Newb with my 2 cents

Symtec Labs made one although I haven't seen it advertised in there web page lately. There is one from CI Motorsports that looks to be the same one.

I have one from Symtec on my DSM and it does work. Not sure if it will in the 8.

In Tennessee, if you have OBD2, they refuse to sniff it, even if you ask. Their loss, my gain... lol

I wouldnt say for sure either way, being able to manipulate the output wave via dipswitch has the possibility of working... but i'll bet its still not as simple as that...

$60!!
but, FWIW that is a complete and total ripoff... there's not $6 worth of components there... hell i could build a replica of that with parts I have... and the cost isnt in R&D/design.. thats an extremely simple circuit. as a matter of fact, i am pretty sure I have seen a diagram and stripboard layout for a circuit just like this(onyl it wasnt meant for this use, it was meant to educate on waveforms)

How about I send the EPA to your house instead? Maybe after you spend some time in bott fock prison you'll think twice about bott focking the air we breathe? You probably think pouring your used oil in the sewer drain is OK too ...

If they want to sniff my car, they can go ahead. I'll just register it 1 county over where there are NO emissions.

So the EPA isn't really a deterrent to me in the middle of nowhere in TN in regards to emissions.

Nice rant, but better served to someone in states with higher emission controls though.

Yea! That's just what we need in this country, more people in prison!

Don't threaten people online.

we have prisons for a reason, believe it or not some people deserve to be there, usually the one's who only give a damn about themselves above all else

not to mention that I made 220 rwhp NA with an aftermarket cat converter. I get so tired of clueless dumbasses pulling their cats just to make 5 more peak HP (hooray, you made it to 180 rwhp if you were lucky ) for a street car that rarely goes there

Further, the only douchebags are the people who think the limited resources of this world serve as their personal toilet to sit and sh-t on. It's the people who act irresponsibly that always end up being the cause of our rights being taken away, more laws being enacted, and more prisons being built. F-cking retards.

Hah. Funny that a bunch of RX-8 guys are rambling on about the environment. It's kind of like having a fat personal trainer lecture you about your eating habits.
