swoopes last dyno

well here it is..

the specs.

early reman motor. with 45k miles on it.
plugs ~ 10k miles, but a track day on them.
mods that would matter.

rb duct and intake.
prolight flywheel.
new improved double secret probation mid pipe with cat.

YES THIS DYNO WAS WITH A CAT.

and on 87 oct gas. with the 2oz or fp1 and 4 oz of indm premix..

the other rx8 this day did 185 whp without a cat.

also this dyno has hosted sc and turbos that have read low..

so here you go...

i was hoping for anything over 185. the last group of na rx8s that dynoed on the same machine the high was in the upper 170s.

Yeah that issue hope you can work something out .

With that dyno your car will almost be as quick as mine now

but mine goes over 125mph at least once a month.

Because its cheap, it works and has more power potential (provided you don't have detonation issues).

this has been covered to death. years ago.. the car is a daily driver with 90k miles on it. i have always run 87 in it and never had a problem.

i do put 93 in it for track days.

i use good 87.

the 900 bucks i saved in gas paid for shocks, springs, sways, and endlinks.

and it seems to do ok on the dyno..

You're lucky the 87 you can find there is good. The 87 where I live is blended with 10-15% ethanol =( which leads to much reduced gas milage.

not really,

we have the 10% ethanol also. i think that was in the tank at the time.

Yeah - I went back to using 87 (91 here in nz ) when gas went over $2/litre .
Car runs just as good but I will switch back to 95 in summer as I've had detonation on hot days .

Yeah, there was a pretty decent sized crowd the previous time too. Btw, I'm also now using 87 oct without an issue!

my own theory on Renesis octane was proven out beta testing with Cobb and 87 ain't it
