ok sweet i already bought one so i now have all the guages i need. i bought the autometer sport comp digital boost/vac , water temp and wideband. and the cyberdyne air temp, the wideband will be going in the custom defroster vent guage pod. and the other 3 will be goin in the RB ashtray pod i orderd.

heres my setup....

13bturbofc 10-14-2008 06:10 PM

sweet.. thats pretty much the same way mine will look except with digital guages. so how hard was the wiring for the vent guage?

Rotr8 10-14-2008 07:13 PM

dont know yet thats just a dry fit, the SC goes in the first weekend in Nov. but I plan to drill thru the AC ducting and following the EDFC wiring out the firewall... shouldnt be too hard....

13bturbofc 10-14-2008 08:32 PM

another thing im a little concerned with is possible damage to the guage from the heat pumping directly onto the guage after an extended period of time. but then again being in the window on hot summer days has to be hotter then the defrost heat

13bturbofc 10-16-2008 09:36 PM

hey olddragger what meth setup are you running?

Rotr8 10-16-2008 10:13 PM

I think hes running the Snow kit, I believes hes experimented with several injectors and locations cant remember the exact cc's but its in the Petit owners thread...

I think he is running the same as me, dual nozzles, 100ml before the blower and 60 ml after the blower.
He also has said before that he was not running Nitromethane in his Methanol.:uhh:

13bturbofc 10-23-2008 04:15 PM

yeah what is that nitromethane? thats the first ive heard of it on snow's website. anyone have expiriance with using that?

olddragger 10-23-2008 05:25 PM

Nitromethane creates Oxygen when it burns, it still makes power when the engine A/F ratio is too rich.
When using Methanol, the mixture gets richer, when using Methanol with Nitromethane included you can get closer to an optimal A/F ratio.
:Eyecrazy:

The smell also reminds me of the Gator nationals......
:)

You can get Methanol RC car/plane/boat fuel in 5%, 10%, 15%, ... all the way to 70% Nitromethane.

Denny, come on, try it; all the Funny cars are doing it.....
10 or 15% Nitro mixed with Boost-Juice can't hurt.:fingersx:

lol it sounds like you guys are afraid to use this stuff..lol what kind of damage can it do? does it make it more likely to detonate?

olddragger 10-24-2008 09:53 AM

UH UH:) I got enough power! Old men get scared easy--seems like you are going faster when you wear bifocals:)
I also know how easy it is for this engine to have detonation and I am VERY cautious about that.
However , i am glad you are willing to go to were no one has gone before--thats how we all learn.
You are right I do enjoy that small --I used to race those little R/C cars --they are a blast.

13bturbofc 10-24-2008 04:02 PM

haha

13bturbofc 10-24-2008 07:45 PM

so i finally have my gauges remounted into the RB ashtray pod- boost water temp and intake air temp, then i have the wideband in the custom defrost vent single pod. i plan on wiring them up and installing them tomorrow..wish me luck.. question denny, how accurate is this air temp gauge? i may be mistaking but i would think that the intake air temp would be something that fluctuates temperature quite quickly, am i correct in assuming that? and from the sealed up look of this sender unit i cant see it detecting fast changes in temp...

13bturbofc 10-24-2008 10:32 PM

just ordered the mazmart remedy pump...where can i find a 180 degree thermostat?

jskup1 10-25-2008 06:57 AM

Autozone and Advance Auto both have them.

Rotr8 10-25-2008 11:51 AM

Hey Nick your doing a bang up job getting all the supporting mods but when are you getting the SC???

olddragger 10-25-2008 02:44 PM

that temp probe is accurate and responds fast--make sure that the probe fits pass the fitting when you install. The temp actually will not fluctuate as fat as you may think.
DO read about how to get the thermostat to work--- OK?

13bturbofc 10-25-2008 06:01 PM

wat r u saying about the thermostat?

olddragger 10-25-2008 08:26 PM

ts not just a replace the thermostat with one you buy.
i figured out how to get one to work--its in the pettit thread--some slight modification is required. easy for a man of your talent

no it does not work like that..

this is where if you want to learn you need to search..

i would do a search under olddragger and 180. that should get you there..

btw, what you find is not plug and play. but it is smart!

but he cant post photos so what does he know! :):):) ;)

or look in the diy section..

beers

Rotr8 10-26-2008 09:27 AM

the thread that the thremostat info is in is the owners thread which is now 140 pgs long,,, Nick are you gonna track the car??? cuz us northern guys probably will never see the temps that Denny and Juan are goin through, well at least not as long stints like they do,,, denny consistantly tracks his car and is always looking for that extra edge,,,,

PS- T-11 days til my install,,,,,

Nick -- talked to Moon last night he's gonna be up here for three weeks, you should meet him he can go over everything with ya, he's the one whom co-developed the kit....

olddragger 10-26-2008 09:31 AM

Ok --go to the auto store and get a Mr Gasket barrel type 180F thermostat. Its about $10.
