Strange noise coming from Racing Beat Intake

Hi guys,

Just finished installing my Racing Beat Intake with air Duct. When the engine is on I can hear a strange noise coming from the intake, like a whistling high pitch noise. It's especially noticeable when in a quiet area or garage.

Is this normal? My guess is it's the sound of the intake sucking air through the air duct but just wanted to make sure with you guys.

Jono

if it's really high pitched, one of your 3 little hoses might might be loose.

does the revi use the secondary vaccum inlet? if not, make sure it's capped.

also, the sound of the RB box will mellow out over the next couple days, so it's possible the sound may go away.

The awesome air sucking sound from the air duct fortunately will stay though

You sure you aren't just hearing the air pump when you first start up the car? You might be listening closer now than ever before.

It's normal. You here the air rushing through the scoop.

Nah I don't have any hoses connected to my REVi. The only thing I have connected is that electrical connection that goes onto the MAF sensor.

And yes I put a red cap on where the hose use to be when it was stock.

My guess is it's normal like all of you say. Deffinately must be the air sucking in through the air duct.

Thanks for the help guys. Looking forward to the next few days. I read that it takes a couple of days for the REVi to actually kick in as it needs to adapt to my RX8.

I'm Excited!!!

It won't take long for the computer to update for the more linear airflow. I wonder why I didn't remove my VFAD sooner. Enjoy!

really? what do you do with the three hoses? they go in the stock box and my MS cai. not sure how you would be not using them.

When you say stock box are you referring to the stock air box? With the RB Intake you will not be require to use the stock air box anymore so I took it out aswell as the hoses with it, so in the end I wasn't required to recconect any hoses to the RB intake.

Can any other RB Intake owners confirm this?
