I'm not finding any info about this radiator on here and was wondering if anyone has it? I'm considering it and just looking for any reviews.

Hmmm, that's a first for me. Stillen makes good stuff though. I had almost their whole catalog on my 01' Maxima.

 

Yeah everything I've had from them in the past has been good quality but seems rather cheap compared to most of the "good" aftermarket radiators.

 

What I don't get is why the 1 row and 2 row are the same price? Who would go for the 1 pass anyway? I think stock is a dual pass.

 

I'd personally pay the extra money to get something you know that works, like the Griffin BHR rad or the ron davis mazmart. I was about to buy a koyo, had it on a previous car but read the reviews and it was worst than stock as far as cooling. Cooling your car is very important, get something you know that works.

 

The Koyo on my car works just fine all sealed up. Personally I wish I had gone with a Griffin or Ron Davis but for most people who never track, the Koyo will work just fine. The Knights Sports Radiator is after all made by Koyo.

 

I've always been under the impression that Koyo for the 8 was slightly worse than stock? However, I've yet to test this, so I won't argue with someone who runs it daily... in Southern heat!!!

 

Track down a Mizu - they are 2 row and they have wider spaced fins than the stock radiator - build is nice and the price is good. Performance is excellent. They also make a fan and shroud kit but the fans are only 80 watts each so they're a bit low powered for the RX-8.

Mine was worst at first honestly but not by much, maybe 5-10F at max temps. But NYCGPS posted up a pic on how to properly seal it and it has worked perfect since. During the Texas8 last weekend it was around 85-90F and my max coolant temps were only 212F. Another guy with similar mods to me and the stock radiator and the Mazmart water pump and thermostat was seeing coolant temps in excess of 230F. But I have a huge 28" Fluidyne oil cooler instead of dual stock oil coolers so that may play into it as well.

 

You should source an oil cooler for me :p
The Koyo is a known downgrade IF you have a stock tightly packed engine bay. There's not much evidence on how it works in a car with an AEM intake and battery relocation though.

Before buying a radiator i'd seriously question the need for it and gather as much hard data as i possibly could.

 

You looking for a single conversion or dual?

 

Single, mostly for the weight savings since my temps are ok.. but i'm broke at the moment lol

 

The problem with the radiator is not the radiator! Its that dang air conditioner cooler!
You should see how much air flow increases once that thing is out of the way and you clean up the oem fan shroud.
It doesnt matter what kind of radiator you put in this car if you dont so something about those two items. Period.
