Omicron: Well I did the install several weeks ago and did a write-up; but the handling is awesome! And the new tires and wheels make a big difference as well...:)

I'm REALLY surprised the Mazdaspeed exhaust uses a muffler clamp - that's a little ghetto. The rest of the system looks very well made, though.

Man, I love looking at new car suspension - looks a lot better than 100,000+ mile RX-7 suspension that's nasty dirty :).

setpixel: Thanks, I have the instructions in english will try to post early this week... And yes the part numbers are the same world wide... You will love the car with them installed, makes a big difference...

Hi cortc, nice looking suspension!
Can you give me some details about it please? THey look like coilovers, are they adjustable in anyway? height/damper/camber etc.... How does the car handle now? Have you had a chance to take it on some nice roads? How are things like the body roll, etc? No problems with the suspension bottoming out or anything like that? How much did they lower the car by?
I am thinking about some coilovers for the RX8, and I assume the Mazdaspeed parts will be more of a mild street package than hardout track gear. How hard does she ride now?

Also with the sways, and struts did they make a big difference too?

Lastly notice any more power with the exhaust, and was the flywheel worth it? It seems to be the mod of choice on these boards....

(Sorry for all the questions, but I want to start modding my RX, and I find others hands on experience invaluable)

Thanks!!

DCD: Thanks, in regards to your questions; they have all been answered in my past post.

Here are some links:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=25546

The total drop on the suspension is 1 inch... The sway bars make a big difference... Like the stocks they are coilovers, they however are not adjustable... The car handles much better, almost to body roll... The MS exhaust is good for about 5-7hp... The flywheel is worth it!

Ahhhh excellent thanks cortc exactly what i was looking for!!
Its wicked that you are so willing to share your knowledge, thanks again!

Hey I was looking at the mazdaspeed japan web site and they have a lot of really cool looking stuff for the rx8, can anyone tell me if there is an english website for mazdaspeed?

mysql101 06-01-2004 07:03 AM

What was the diff between stock and MS exhaust? From the pics they look pretty much the same. Was there a weight diff? Size diff?

cortc 06-01-2004 09:10 AM

Deeper sound, it flows better so it is less restrictive... Also a little lighter...

God of Thunder 06-11-2004 06:22 PM

Quick question, after installing the kit what do your springs look like when the car is back on the ground? Do the top 3-5 coils compress together?

cortc 06-11-2004 06:27 PM

Yes, that is normal...
